What You'll Find in the Deals
Offers move across the full range, so it helps to know what you are scanning for.
Sun and beach — Spain, Portugal, Greece, Turkey and the Canaries carry the deepest discounting, simply because volume is highest. Shoulder months of May, June and late September give you warm water without peak pricing.
All inclusive — the strongest-value format for anyone who wants a fixed cost. Meals, local drinks, snacks and usually non-motorised watersports are covered, which takes resort spending out of the equation entirely.
City breaks — short-haul three- and four-night trips to Amsterdam, Barcelona, Rome, Prague and Krakow. These rarely need booking far ahead, and midweek departures routinely sit well below weekend prices.
Family offers — properties with free or reduced child places, interconnecting rooms, kids' clubs and pool complexes designed for younger swimmers.
Luxury and adults only — five-star resorts, swim-up rooms and quieter adults-only properties, discounted on the same seasonal cycle as everything else.
Long haul — Dubai, the Caribbean, the Indian Ocean and Thailand, where winter departures from the UK deliver guaranteed sunshine when Europe cannot.
Late availability — unsold rooms released within six weeks of departure. The trade-off is flexibility: take what is there, pay less for it.
