Disappointing hotel. The photos and descriptions are not in any way accurate

Although 4 star, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The 'balcony' was a viewing platform 1sq metre. Not room even for 1 chair. It was a big upheaval to change rooms. The air con did not go below 24 degrees, making nights very uncomfortable. We had to give up twin beds for this and had a queen bed. Not ideal. Advise taking own shampoo etc as bathroom products not great. Pool towels were hard and very thin.The food was quite good, but if big groups came in, the best went quickly and not replaced. Not Jet2 high standard. We'll be back to Pestana Hotels if we return to Madeira. Redeeming feature were the staff who were all delightful. The shuttle bus only goes to Funchal at 10, 11 & 16:00 returning 16:10& 17:10. So not every 15 mins or frequent. We paid for taxis for 10 days.

Very comfortable hotel with two good sized pools and a spa. Easy to walk into town and half board plus meant breakfast and evening meal with drinks alongside the meal included. Excellent facility in all respects including check-in, welcome tour, dining facilities, entertainment and amenities. Whenever we needed assistance or advice the staff was more than willing to help. They recommended tours, restaurants, island drives and concerts. The cleaning staff did an outstanding job in our room every day. The cleaning staff did an outstanding job in our room every day. Every detail was taken care of. We have already contacted our friends back home and told them about The Views Baia. We told them they would be hard pressed to find a better hotel in terms of location, service, staff friendliness, dinning room, gym, spa, swimming pool, cocktail bar and entertainment.

Good choice for an adults only hotel in Funchal.

We had a deluxe room which was spotlessly clean, well appointed with very comfortable bed. The breakfast buffet was very good but elevated by the al la carte options included with our room. The location is a short walk from the front and town centre which we were fine withWe had a deluxe room which was spotlessly clean, well appointed with very comfortable bed. The location is a short walk from the front and town centre which we were fine with but if you struggle with hills consider using taxi's or the complementary shuttle to get around.
We would also recommend the bar which had live music every night, good cocktails and was a very pleasant place to take in the views and unwind at the end of the day. The staff were uniformly excellent.

Lovely hotel with great views

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We opted for self catering which was really handy to have as we eat out during the day and have just a snack in the evening. The facilities of the Hotel are really good and everywhere is spotlessly clean.
We opted to onlyReally enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We opted for self catering which was really handy to have as we eat out during the day and have just a snack in the evening. The facilities of the Hotel are really good and everywhere is spotlessly clean.
We opted to only have our room cleaned 3 times a week instead of daily and they gave us €3 for every day we opted out. This was deducted from our final bill on leaving. On the days of no cleaning our maid changed our towels if needed and emptied our bins.
The pool area is lovely and very peaceful with fabulous views and the snack bar serves lovely food and drinks at reasonable prices.
The cocktail bar is really lovely with again lovely views and the entertainment was pleasant, some better than others but that was just our view.
All the staff are very friendly and helpful.
The walk down to Funchal was about 15/20 mins and you can cut through the back streets instead of on the main road. The walk back is a pull, we opted to get a taxi, which was only €5 so it was worth it.
We hired a Taxi for the day to take us around the island which was great and flexible. It cost €140 and well worth it,our driver was very knowledgeable.
It was our first time in Madeira and I am sure we will be visiting again in the future.
