Very close to the train station which was really easy to find. Hotel staff were really helpful and the rooms were really big. Great location. Comfy bed. Good base for exploring Venice. Must visit Da Michele restaurant round the corner. Great food.

Great location, quiet and clean

We stayed at the Plaza Hotel in Mestre which is just outside of central Venice. It's a great location situated right opposite the main Venezia Mestre Train Station. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. Check in was quick and easy. The breakfast was okay, and consisted of meats, cheese, cereal, eggs, bacon, sausages and rice etc. Unfortunately certain items of food ran out and didn't appear to be replaced very quickly so there was a bit of waiting around to have more food brought out.
We stayed in a superior room which was average and clean. We did have a few issues in our room which the front office staff were quick to attend to. They gave us a free upgrade room for the issues we experienced which was appreciated. There is a safe in each room which you can set your own code use to use to store valuables.
There is a fully stocked bar fridge in your room. This is not free and you have to leave credit card details at check in to cover the cost of any items used out of the fridge. Check out is midday which is a great time.
We did however get met with an unexpected "city tax" bill upon check out which we weren't informed about at all during the holiday, but this could be down to the holiday provider rather than the hotel - I'm not sure....
Finally there is Souls Kitchen restaurant on the ground floor next to the hotel. We went here twice and had the best carbonara and pasta dishes ever!! Definitely worth a try!
Great location - train station, taxi rank and bus stops directly outside of the hotel - with frequent airport shuttle bus and local bus to Marco Polo Airport.

I had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Plaza Venice. The staff were very polite and helpful.
The room was clean, comfortable and there was WiFi available throughout. The buffet breakfast was nice, with a good amount of choice. There's a restaurant next door and plenty of others in close proximity.

The hotel is conveniently located opposite Mestre railway station, which is ideal for transport, and about 15 minutes (on foot) from the centre of Mestre. There's also a bus stop across the road, where you can catch the bus to Venice (€3 return). VCE airport is also not that far away and can be reached by an ATVO bus, with the bus stop being literally up the road.
Like other hotels, outside noise could be heard, particularly from the corridors. Not ideal but just the way it was during my stay. It's also worth mentioning that there's a city tax which you're charged on check-out.
Overall, a great and convenient choice.

This hotel is lovely and clean. We went breakfast included and the breakfast was ok. They had bread, bacon, scrambled eggs, rice, pancakes, cereals, cakes, (things like that).

Check in was pretty easy, no hotel tax but we was told that on check out we will need to pay the City tax of €6.20 a day per person.
We got a bus here from Marco polo airport, You need to look for the ATVO bus stop and then buy a ticket for mestre, it is €10 per person. Make sure you validate your ticket! You can do this by going to the little green / Yellow box next to all ticket machines and just inserting your ticket and it just stamps it.
You will get off at the train station and the hotel is just over the road.
We went into Venice city. We purchased a train ticket to St lucia which cost €1.45 for a single, this is literally 1 stop away, 10 minute train ride. The trains are very cramped, but again make sure you validate your ticket.
I would definitely recommend doing a gondola ride. €90 in the daytime (that's up to 5 people).
There is a McDonald's over the road from the hotel, it is in the train station. If you wanted quick meal, open until 10.30pm.
We ate at the soul kitchen 1 evening which is attached to the hotel, I myself am fussy but I had the lasagne and it was lovely!
I would also recommend going to have dinner at da micheles which is a 3 minute walk and honestly that was the best Pizza I have ever had, we went on new years eve so it was fairly busy but overall a great evening.
Overall it was a great stay. Hotel was so peaceful and lovely and clean.
