May Holiday Packages

May is quietly one of the best months to travel. Summer has not officially started, which means summer pricing has not fully kicked in. But the Mediterranean is warm — properly warm — and the European cities that are overwhelmed in July and August are still navigable, still enjoyable and still available at rates that July simply does not offer. The bank holidays give most UK travellers a natural extended weekend option without touching annual leave. Packages cover flights, accommodation and transfers in a single ATOL protected and ABTA bonded booking.

There is a window in the travel year — roughly from mid-May through early June — where the conditions are near-perfect and the pricing has not yet caught up with them. May sits squarely in this window.
The Mediterranean in May is genuinely warm. Greece averages 25°C. Spain's costas are in the low-to-mid twenties. Cyprus and Turkey are warmer still — 27–28°C by late May in Cyprus, with sea temperatures that are swimming-comfortable for most people. These are not marginal improvements on UK weather. They are proper warm-weather holidays.
The crowds are the other side of the equation. The Greek islands in May look like the photographs taken in the golden hour of September, rather than the reality of August when the same spots are photographed between other people's shoulders. Rhodes, Crete, Santorini and Corfu in May are the versions of themselves that the brochures show — uncrowded tavernas, accessible beaches, sunsets that belong to the people watching them rather than to five hundred people simultaneously.
The pricing reflects none of this. May rates are below June rates, well below July rates and significantly below August rates — for conditions that are, in many cases, better than both.
May has two bank holiday weekends in England and Wales — Early May Bank Holiday (first Monday in May) and Spring Bank Holiday (last Monday in May). For most UK workers, these create natural four-day weekend windows that extend the effective travel opportunity without requiring additional annual leave.
The Early May bank holiday is particularly useful for a short European city break. A Thursday or Friday departure, four or five nights in a European destination, return on Tuesday. This format covers a city break properly — enough time to see it rather than glimpse it — without the weekend-only rush that creates short breaks that feel shorter than they are.
The Spring Bank Holiday at the end of May aligns with the start of the half-term school holiday in many parts of England and Wales, creating a family travel window. This is the earliest point in the year where the school holiday and the genuinely warm Mediterranean weather coincide. Family-friendly resorts in Spain, Greece and Turkey are in good condition and at pricing below the full summer rates that take effect from mid-June. Book before the half-term premium builds.
