The resort has a lift and features 205 rooms. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Rooms

Air conditioning, central heating and a fan ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. A balcony is included as standard in some rooms. The rooms have a queen-size bed and a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe and a minibar are also available. Guests will also find a mini fridge included among the standard features. Further amenities include an ironing set and a trouser press. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. Sport

The pool complex ensures comfortable swimming with its indoor and outdoor pools and pleasantly heated water. Children can enjoy a special swimming area just for them. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. A variety of activities such as cycling/mountain biking, tennis, golf, a putting green, archery and fishing or, for a fee, horse riding, are offered at the resort. With windsurfing, banana boat rides, canoeing, water aerobics and aquafit available, fans of water sports will have plenty to choose from. The complex's location is particularly ideal for skiers. Ski passes are available locally. Guests can enjoy a wide range of indoor sports, including a gym, table tennis, badminton, billiards, yoga and aerobics. Various wellness options are available at the resort, including a spa, a sauna, a steam bath, massage treatments, hydrotherapy treatments and a solarium. Leisure facilities include an entertainment programme, a kids' club and live music.

Meals

Dining facilities include a restaurant, a café and a bar. A generous breakfast buffet and lunch are served every day. Diet meals and children's meals can be prepared on request. The resort also offers special catering options.

    The good news -- The views are out of this world. The staff tried very hard. It feels extremely safe (celebrities and ballers stay there). The breakfast buffet is vast.The bad news -- There are times that you just want a regular American cheeseburger, milkshake, or regular American pizza. They don't have that. After a while, you get tired of being on the property. It is a 30-minute drive to Bariloche. If you don't have a car, then you feel trapped in a 5-star resort....     We stayed at Llao Llao expecting a true 5-star experience, and while the setting absolutely delivers, the overall experience fell well short—especially for the price.The biggest disappointment was the food. Across the board, it was subpar—basic items like pizza and salads were poorly executed and nowhere near the quality you’d expect at this level. Given the pricing, it felt especially off. Dining on property quickly became something we tried to avoid rather than look forward to.Service was also inconsistent. At times it felt inattentive and not aligned with what you’d expect from a luxury resort. There wasn’t that polished, anticipatory service that typically defines a 5-star stay.The rooms were another letdown—dated, on the smaller side, and lacking the level of comfort and finish you’d expect given the nightly rate. It felt like the property is leaning heavily on its history rather than investing in a fully modernized experience.On top of that, there’s a noticeable amount of upcharging for extras, which adds up quickly and further detracts from the value.That said, the location is undeniably stunning. The views, surrounding nature, and overall setting are world-class—easily the highlight of the stay.But ultimately, for what you’re paying, the experience doesn’t match the price point. Unless you’re willing to take 30–35 minute cabs each way to eat off property and avoid the on-site dining, it’s hard to justify the cost.     Secluded Resort with Stunning Views

    If you are looking to stay at a resort with breathtaking views, this is the place. We could not be happier that we booked this hotel over several other luxury hotels in the area. We stayed in a 1st floor suite which was truly stunning, secluded and very large. The bathroom and shower water pressure were also great along with a massive walk in closet. The resort is very spread out so be prepared to walk. Llao Llao is not near the downtown area, it is very easy to drive in Bariloche and I would highly recommended renting a car. The only criticism I have is the food at the hotel- it’s not good. We ate there 3 times and it just didn’t get better. The food is very bland, the Caesar Salad ( which wasn’t a Caesar salad) was inedible, mashed potatoes also bland. Compared to other hotels in Argentina this was the least friendly service by far. The negative comments to not surpass the pure beauty of this hotel.     Spectacular Location, But Service Didn’t Match Our Other Argentina Hotels

    My wife and I stayed at the Llao Llao Resort for four nights as part of a nearly three-week Argentina/Chile trip. This was the fourth of five hotels we stayed in. The others included the Alvear Palace Hotel in Buenos Aires, the Gran Meliá Iguazú, and the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Santiago, all of which delivered excellent service.First the positives: the setting is truly spectacular. The hotel sits about 30 minutes from downtown Bariloche on the famous Circuito Chico drive, in one of the most scenic locations in Patagonia. The historic lodge architecture is beautiful, the public spaces are impressive, and the lake and mountain views are memorable. It’s easy to see why the property is considered a classic Argentine resort.However, the service was noticeably weaker than at the other hotels on our trip. Staff were generally polite but not particularly warm or proactive. Concierge assistance was limited and English proficiency was lower than expected for a hotel of this stature.There were also several small issues. After a long day of flying and a fairly long walk through the property to reach our Moreno Wing room, my wife’s first comment was that there was no welcome fruit in the room, something we had received at other hotels on this trip. In addition:• A one-bottle-per-day water limit in the room. Might have been per person.• No tissues provided in the room• Our request for a higher floor was not honoredNone of these issues are major individually, but together they create the impression of a hotel that is not quite operating at the level of international luxury properties.Overall, Llao Llao is worth visiting for the scenery, architecture, and history, but travelers expecting the same level of service found at top hotels in Buenos Aires, Iguazú, or Santiago may find the experience somewhat uneven. Travelers coming mainly for the views, golf, and natural setting will likely love it, but those expecting consistent five-star service standards may be disappointed.If the hotel elevated its service to match the spectacular setting, it could easily be one of the great resort hotels in South America.
