    basic and comfortable, good location

    rating13 Mar 2026

We spent 4 nights at the 474 and overall it’s ok. It’s pretty basic and tired with little things we found annoying; things they should check and fix prior to people checking in:- TV didnt work and remote needed batteries, had to go and ask- middle of the night the electronic door lock started beeping, we reported it the next morning and they didnt do anything and I had to get them to fix it; - there were no real amenities in the room such as bathroom stuff - soap/shampoo dispensers in shower didnt work- public toilet in restaurants had no door lockThe room was comfortable and spacious although got a bit stuffy through the night, and bathroom functional. The breakfast was basic but adequate with no cooked options, was a buffet with some pre-cooked scrambled eggs only hot option. So, in summary it’s a basic and tired hotel with basic facilities, but its at a price point. The thing that makes it worth a stay is the location, its very central and can pretty much walk to most things. For a couple nights its a reasonable option.

    Nice stay in city centre

    rating09 Jan 2025

This was my 2nd time staying at this hotel.Previously this property belonged to TRYP hotel chain. My first stay was amazing and this is why I returned again after 16 years. However, I did find some drawbacks this time and this is why I am not giving it a 5 star.Let’s start with some positive aspects.Location: it is ideal for exploring the city as it is close to many important landmarks. Within few minutes walk you will be on the pedestrian street Calle Florida, the obelisk, Teatro Colon, the cathedral, Casa Rosada, Galerias Pacifico, etc. Also you can easily walk 15-20 minutes to Puerto Madero and San Telmo areas, as well as Buquebus ferry terminal. The subway (Subte) stop is just around the corner and if you would like to take one of the hop-off-hop-on buses one of the stops is is just a 3 minute walk down the street. The area is quite safe and you should not be too much concerned about homeless people roaming around the hotel and sleeping on the street. They do not bother anyone. There are also lot of shops and restaurants within the short distance.By being on a small street the hotel is also very quiet and you can get plenty of good sleep after a long journey.Room size and amenities: I stayed in few different rooms and they are all very spacious. Suites on the last floor are the biggest and have large balconies.AC has worked perfectly. Robes and slippers are a big plus. Mini fridge is a decent size and you can store your own refreshments and some food if needed. Bathrooms are also well appointed with WC/bidet and shower each separated from the rest of the bathroom by frosted glass panels with its own doors. The power outlets in the rooms we stayed are adapted for both for Argentinian and US/Canadian plugs. Now let’s talk about some negative aspects.Rooms/common spaces:The hotel definitely needs some updates and upgrades. Everything still looks like 16 years ago and many areas and furniture are outdated and worn out. Some rooms still have old and stained carpets, which should be replaced by the laminate. Bathroom fixtures are very old and patched up with paint and silicone. The mirror above the sink does not have its own light and the sink area is not very well lit.The AC in the room works perfectly, but you will have to turn it on yourself. Every time we checked in the room and came back after it was cleaned the AC was off and it felt like an oven inside. The breakfast was quite basic with a limited choice of items. It was much better in 2009.Lunch and dinner are not available like back then when I stayed the first time. Staff is generally nice and polite, but at times it felt like you had to push for some answers. If I go back to Buenos Aires, I think I will opt for another hotel in the same area.

    Friendly and central hotel

    rating08 Jan 2025

This is a centrally located hotel with a variety of gluten free breakfast choices. Last night the lovely gentlemen at reception helped us book our ferry this morning. We are older and may have used a site that was not valid and may have been scammed.. they prevented that from happening. Everyone who works here has been friendly and helpful

    Okay Hotel

    rating06 Mar 2024

The hotel is well situated for exploring. The bed is comfortable as are the pillows. The room and bathroom are clean. The hotel staff is efficient but not friendly or welcoming. The internet is spotty and slow when it’s on. One morning we woke to no water. It took about 1/2 hour to get back on and then it was filthy. I would note- the customarily free coffee is not free. We paid $AP7000 for two Nespresso pods-this equates to a little over $8 USD. Highway Robbery! Walk down the street and grab a box from the store. Would probably stay on the River on the next visit-more restaurants and still within exploring distance.
