    Very bad.

Worst of all, the pure pictures lie, the dark room full of moisture, the finite mattresses in very bad shape, the blankets worn and looked dirty.Another theme is the bathroom, super super small without bidet, impossible to move inside.I do not recommend it at all Originally submitted in Spanish on www.tripadvisor.com.ar. I don't recommend it.

Advertising is misleading, they show photos that do not correspond to the rooms you hire (probably premium). The bed is small, basic, old, with bad pillows and basic sheets. Extremely small shower. The window does not isolate street noise (over the corner) that does not let sleep at night. They offer no solution to all these requirements. The shelled walls, the half-bed disarming..... Originally submitted in Spanish on www.tripadvisor.es. View originals.

    Exceeded my expectations

I went against all comments, because in the photos it looked beautiful. The photos were right, it is a renovated old house, the rooms are small size, the mattress is to change and the bathroom is very small, but I would not change my stay at all, the attention was impeccable, very good predisposition, they wrote to me before to check what time I arrived, it has a terrace that you can use all the time, a shared kitchen with ice cream. The location is amazing, you have all means of transportation, supermarkets, pharmacies and mall two blocks away. I'll definitely be back. Originally submitted in Spanish on www.tripadvisor.com.ar. Interesting stay

If you want to spend some time in a mansion this is the place! Nothing fancy, the beds/mattresses are awful; the shower is very small, the elevator is more like a piece from museum (working at times!). Good for a day or two...but if you don't care about where you sleep, you can stay even longer. I was surprised how quiet to hotel was!

Recollecting how bad Patios de Recoleta was.

Maybe there are some nice rooms in this hotel - rooms that truly do resemble the photos on the website, however, my room was awful. I thought that I would be staying in a refurbished, elderly hotel, resplendent with stained glass windows and grand staircases, as shown on the website. In fact, the room was so poky that the door hit one of the beds as I opened it, the safe did not work, the shower was so tiny that it was claustrophobic, and the only window opened onto a passage, so the room was dingy and dark. There was no A/C, only a ceiling fan, and in Buenos Aires during the summer, that's not enough. Although I had prepaid for 4 nights, I was so distressed that the dreadful accommodation would ruin my experience of the city, after just one night I sacrificed the money I'd paid upfront, and moved to a more salubrious place in Recoleta. The website makes the hotel look like 'shabby chic' - it's not ... it's just shabby. If you're used to staying in hotels with certain minimum standards, pay a little more and stay somewhere else. My room did not even have a chair in it, and the hotel's lift is so ancient that if someone does not shut the trellis door, the lift stays stuck on the level it's on. I've travelled a lot, and always try to reflect my experience of the accommodation as realistically as possible - so I do realise that if I pay a lemonade price, I can't expect champagne accommodation. I also always try to provide a balanced review - even if I didn't like it much myself, I always try to mention the redeeming features, as I don't want to torpedo any place unfairly. but I've stayed in backpackers that offer better facilities than Patios de Recoleta! The good location and cheap price does not compensate for the atrocious level of accommodation you will encounter at this hotel. Don't be tempted, as I was, to save a few $ because the photos on the website are so artfully taken, and make it look like you'll be staying in a cute, boutique hotel - it's not like that, and it's not worth spoiling your time in Buenos Aires to stay in a place like this! Carlos C, Director General at Patios de Recoleta, responded to this review Dear Elise,Thank you very much for your time. The reservation you made was for a room with ceiling fan, not A/C. You were able to book a room with A/C if you wanted to, 95% of our rooms have A/C, but you did not chose that option. Best Regards,Carlos
