  Nice business hotel in an excellent location by La Canada river- this makes the hotel very easy to find when wandering the city. Ideal location close to the old town and the hipster Guemes districtEnthusiastic welcome (with city maps). Decent sized room with good quiet air con. The small pool area was pleasant to use- perhaps not quite as nice as in the web pictures- but quite good enoughIn a country where hotel breakfasts seem identical this was just a touch nicerBuzz about the hotel as a football team checked in- no problems at all & it was nice that the hotel let a fan stay in the lobby for ages to get his footie shirt signed.Wasn't sure that there was always someone with brilliant English on the desk at all times but they were kind with my poor Spanish.   Excellent Experience All Aspects 4 Nights

  We have been to Córdoba twice before but this visit the selection of the Hotel adjacent to La Canada ‘river’.. more like a brook just now as water levels are low.. made for a more appreciative visit. The staff was excellent and it was great to be able to practice aside from Spanish, some French, some basic Patoi/Creole. We were so impressed with the different chefs that we ate all our evening meals in the hotel restaurant. Their wine selection is quite good thought one evening we tried their 6 year old Malbec and even after decanting it was showing signs of being OTH..Over the Hill. Our room on the 9th floor faced the ‘river’ and the tree lined street... no problem with street noise at all. Another major plus for us the layout of streets in South America made it possible for us to walk everywhere except of course from and to the Bus Terminal. Out the front door and to the immediate left is a great wine shop, and carry on straight and cross the street and immediately to your left is a small shop..service through the window type but they have some basic items such as water and a nice white wine...much cheaper than next door. With these pluses and the great service.. breakfast covers quite a few taste buds..yes even scrambled eggs and brown bread.. and not to forget the excellent March price ... we would definitely return here on any future ‘Canadian Winter’ visit.   On our arrival the first thing we noticed was how dirty the reception area was. The lobby forms part of the breakfast area and there was food on the floor which is actually a trip hazzard.We booked an executive suite and were left thoroughly disappointed with the room, its facilities and state of repair.We were fast asleep at midnight when we heard loud knocking on our door. We called reception to investigate and were told a security man would be sent. Ten minutes passed and more banging on door. We called again and nothing was done. There is a CCTV stationed just above our door facing the hall so all they had to do was play back and see who was outside the room. Unfortunately noone could be bothered.When we asked to speak to the manager the following morning a non English speaker appeared who seemed disinterested. Avoid this place. We will certainly not be recommending it.   Walking Distance to Barrio Guemes

  The Howard Johnson Hotel is located next to the Canada de Cordoba.The Canada is a stone construction that holds rain water.The pedestrian path is lined with many trees and bridges.The hotel is a very safe place for solo female travelers and walking distance to Güemes.( start at San Juan Blvd and walk down Belgrano ) Bohemian Güemes has lots of restaurants, bars, clubs and shops.The Córdoba Howard Johnson staff is friendly and helpful with information.I needed to change dollars to Argentina pesos and the money exchange building can be seen across the street from the hotel corner.The staff at the front desk is also available to help you book a tour with a company named, Nativos. They have day tours to the surrounding areas outside Cordoba to hike, shop, even Skydive.

  My wife and I stayed 4 nights in this hotel. It has a good location on the “Cañada” avenue. The “Bife de chorizo” at the restaurant is great! Breakfast is good. Service is good too. I just did not like the fact that they assigned some cabs that I ordered through them, as a fee to the minibar consumption.
