Big Mistake to choose this 1/2 star Hotel

    rating22 May 2025

I left the hotel with bug bites on both legs. The bathroom was extremely small, and the air conditioning only cooled one room. The other room remained hot and humid, with the AC functioning on fan mode only.At breakfast, there was no ice available for some reason, so the food left out wasn't kept fresh—cheese was melting on the plate. Strangely, there were no eggs offered, which is unusual for a basic breakfast.Online images completely misrepresent the reality of this hotel. Don't be fooledAvoid this hotel at all costs. It barely meets the standards of a half-star property.

Budget hotel with basic accommodations. 4 of 5 rating seems generous

    rating24 Nov 2024

This is an old, low cost hotel with very basic rooms. Positives: clean, newer bathroom. Has a safe and fairly large closet. Staff were helpful. Central location near the square with the cathedral, museums and casino.Negatives: Air conditioner has 2 settings, on or off and no fan speed control. AC vent blasts one side of the bed so had to turn it off at night and room got hot. There were is no deadbolt or chain on the door. No hot food in the free breakfast.Alvarado is a busy street, rooms on the street side are noisy.

    Great location, yet overpriced

    rating16 Feb 2020

I stayed here for two nights.Positives first:-Location is perfect, right in the city center. Close to the plaza and several car rental agencies.-The staff is friendly. However, I would not stay here again. The hotel is way overpriced (compared to the general price level in the province) when taking into account that the hotel is worn, the rooms are extremely basic and old and is either too hot (when the AC is off) or too cold (when the low-hanging AC is on).The rooms are also small by Argentinean standards. Breakfast was so lousy that we skipped it on the second morning and went to a café instead.I would stay somewhere else.

    Desaster

    rating02 Jan 2020

We had booked a suite but unfortunately only received a standard room. The standard room was just terrible. It was a small crammed room. Air condition was installed underneath the window in height of the bed, so that the cold air was blown directly at our lower legs. The bathroom was the tiniest place you can imagine. After flushing the flush needs loooong time to fill up again, so that it is almost impossible to go to the toilet directly one after the other. The view from the room was into a backyard, no view at all, just down on all the other ACs. The bed was o.k. so far, a little sagging. The hotel was very poorly soundproofed. Never again in a standard room in that hotel.

Try to check-in when Nicholas is on duty

    rating09 Aug 2019

Excellent location in the heart of the historic downtown. You will find that the room (and, in fact, the entire hotel) is very basic, dated, but clean and spacious. Nicholas - and my apologies, as I have probably misspelled his name - was spectacular at check-in. His English is very-good; he went out of his way to explain everything, including how to see local sights, etc.; and he literally drew a map, and then left the hotel lobby to direct me to the parking (around the corner, but complicated to get to, as a result of one-way and pedestrian streets). Phone a day before to see when he is on-duty - it is worth it. He is also the only English-speaking front-desk staff member. Moreover, Juan - the other front-desk interaction, was sullen and uncommunicative.
