Not a 4 star by North American standards

    rating06 Apr 2026

Let me preface this review by saying we’re from Canada and have stayed in a range of hotels from total dives to 5 stars. We’re not especially fussy travellers. Wifi did not work in our first room. We were told someone would come to fix it but they didn’t. At the time of booking and at check in we requested to be in the same room for all 3 nights as one regular room had been booked by our cruise company and I booked the last two. The last two nights were a suite and we were willing to be in either room type to avoid the hassle of moving. At check in we were told we could stay in the same room but needed to sign a paper saying we agreed to the downgraded room. When we returned that evening to do so we were told we’d need to move to the suite as a regular room was no longer available. We protested and were told we could remain in the regular room. When we asked about the rate we were told it would be for the same price as the suite ($500 US/nt). What?! Naturally we moved to the suite. There was no apology for the lack of information about the rate and not telling us the change would only be made once we signed this paper. When we moved into the suite, it was 25*C. No A/C which we understood given the local climate but opening the windows meant excessive light and noise.Even at the height of tourist season in a large city, for $500 US/nt I would not expect scuffed furniture and walls, chipped tile, no facial tissue or hand lotion, etc. Breakfast buffet had something to appeal to most (unless you have Celiac) and I did love the fresh pear juice. Also mildly stressful was that there were no tags for luggage storage. We were told there was a camera which doesn’t prevent anyone from taking it in the first place.

Convenient location and would stay again ~

    rating29 Mar 2026

It's a boutique type hotel but it has all the amenities. Restaurant was good. Breakfast adequate. We sat in bar area the one night. I had hot tea as the day had been cold and rainy. Restaurant did not open until 7 so no dessert until then. We had creme brulee which was a little different than normal, but not bad. It's a convenient location to the shop up on the corner where there are stamps and they take postcards to the End of the World Post Office. It's up the hill to the right. The End of the World store is to the left. It was a cold, rainy day, so not great but easy to get to. The Visitor Center and the End of the World sign is at the bottom of the hill within walking distance of the hotel. There is a wine shop in the bottom and we came back through there and up the stairs into the hotel due to it starting to rain harder. The first night was clear and we walked up the hill to the left and down a few blocks to the Hard Rock Cafe. There are other restaurants and shops within walking distance. It's a good location. Adequate enough accommodations. We would most likely stay again.

Run down to point of unacceptable.

    rating18 Feb 2026

This hotel has not kept up with repairs, maintenance, esthetics, rehab or any kind of hiding a completely run down unacceptable hotel. These rooms have walls, corners and floors all marked up and ragged from 20 years of use. There is NO attempts at rehabbing this hotel to match the prices ($250 USD per night) or even to keep up with a Two Star hotel quality of rooms. The bathrooms require even the smallest person to navigate it extremely careful. One wrong turn ends you up in tub, or toilet or bidet or sink. Standing in one place to do all of the above and your rate of success is much better! The walls in the room are marked up with black marks everywhere from years of use. The floors are cheap lanolin fake wood planks. All beds are lumpy if pushed together and better to use them as twins beds as intended. They are very small twin beds as well. The breakfast food is reused from a week ago or at least it looks like it. It is not protected against the plethora of people that use the buffet. Hair is in most of the food. It is completely unsanitary.

    Tough to beat in Ushuaia

    rating08 Feb 2026

Great spot. Perfect location across from the main pier with tons of tours and activities, and steps from the main street in town. New, clean, big comfortable rooms, friendly staff. And what a great restaurant. Hard to beat. We loved it.

    request a quiet room

    rating03 Feb 2026

Stayed here as part of a cruise package. Room was adequate, bathroom clean, breakfast buffet unremarkable (decent coffee). Biggest drawback: late night noise from city street. It was insane! tour buses idling, delivery vans, motorcycles racing engines, cars honking. OK
