DANGEROUS WINTER CONDITIONS, NO HELP FROM STAFF — TRAVELERS BE WARNED

    rating30 Jul 2025

Check-in = A Safety HazardHotel check-in is at Gobernador Félix Paz 868, but the actual rooms are located at Gobernador DeLoqui 849, which is a 600-ft walk downhill. Yes, this is noted in the booking — but what they fail to mention is the condition of the path, especially in winter. We were asked to haul our 25kg bags down a steep, icy slope in the dark, with broken pavement, uneven stairs, and no guard rail.📸 (Photos attached)We politely explained to the front desk that we had physical injuries and that this could be dangerous. The response? “Well, I’m a woman and I do it.”(we are two gay men) Followed by a sarcastic “good luck with your bags.” There was zero offer to help, no solution offered, and honestly a tone that felt both defensive and dismissive. Not Safe or AccessibleIf you are traveling with injuries, disabilities, older adults, or even just a large suitcase — this setup is not safe. And the hotel should be more transparent and prepared to assist.Bathroom FloodTo top things off, we had a bathroom flood from the unit above on our second night. Water leaked down through the ceiling, soaking our bathroom door and damaging the paint.📸 (Photos attached)The irony? Hotel staff could walk over from the check-in building to inspect the flood and bring towels — but apparently, not when guests needed help checking in safely. That double standard really says it all.Credit to ExpediaWe reached out to Expedia for support and spoke with Omar, who was empathetic, professional, and actually cared about our safety. Huge thanks to him — he did what the hotel should have.

Lack of communication regarding the check-in process, where one has to go.

    rating24 Feb 2024

The apartment was okay. The faucets in the shower were hard to set for the right temperature with the hot water. It was too hot or too cold and if one doesn't want to be burned, one has to have a weak flow of water. If I increased the flow the water was scorching hot. The apartments was a studio with a bed, chairs, kitchen, fully loaded with dishes, silverware. The closet space was fine and over all the place was it very clean. It is good for two people. The problem was the communication regarding the check-in process. It was not at the apartments, but on the other side of the street on the rear at the Alto Andino Hotel and to get there one has to walk about 200 feet to the corner, make a left for a 300 feet walk up a steep hill, then make another left for an additional walk of 250 feet. The walk is not a problem, but not with a 50lb duffel bag and a 19lb carry-on. If I had been told about this, I would have asked the Uber driver to take me to the Alto Andino Hotel for check-in and I would have asked the driver to wait for me to take me to the Vela apartments. Instead the Uber driver dropped me at the La Vela apts. and I was outside the apartments with my luggage, knocking at the door waiting and hoping for someone to open the door. I tried to call the number of the La Vela apts. listed on the email reservation, but I got a message from the cell service stating the number was a not working number. After about a half hour waiting, a guest of the apartments that was returning from breakfast told me about the ckeck-in issue, he also stated that he had the same problem. When I complained to the receptionist of the Alto Andino hotel, a guy, he just didn't say anything at all, he didn't even say the reason the phone didn't work. To enter the apartments, one has to key in a code. The next day management changed the code and I was not informed, so I couldn't get in the building. I tried to call the La Vela apts. at the number listed on the paper work I got at the time of check-in the day before, but no one answered the phone!!! I had to walk to the Alto Andino Hotel, I complained to the same guy that checked me in the day before, he just gave me the new combination and said that he was busy checking-in other guests, so he couldn't answer the phone. If one wants to have breakfast, one has to pay an additional $10, and it's at the Alto Andino Hotel. The breakfast was okay. The only problem was that both the coffee and the hot water for the tea were cold.

    Very good location

    rating20 Jul 2021

The apartment block is at walking distance to very good restaurants to have breakfast / lunch and dinner, so we did not use the kitchen. The boiler makes too much noise, when the shower is being used and some other minor details, but very decent price / quality apartment to stay with a family for a few days.

    Good location near center

You pick up the key from Alto Andino Hotel, there is option to have breakfast at extra charge. Breakfast area was great overlooking the town. Room was spacious, but a little overused. There was a kitchen but we did not used it.
