  Hardly family friendly, go outside for a swim and there’s a sign on the fence saying kids can’t yell. So essentially, kids can’t be kids and have fun in the water. Sheesh. Comfy enough beds but terrrrrribleee pillows (may I suggest bring your own!), woke up with the stiffest sorest neck ever, I should also mention the pillow cases weren’t even clean. And rooms stank.

  Reasonably clean but very very dated and has that old musty smell.. The price of $155 for the night is too high for this caliber of accomodation. Has free wifi but it comes with a warning “weak security” so no internet banking etc. also video’ed baby cockroaches running around after reception was closed but luckily we had some fly spray in the car.

  A family emergency meant that my husband and I had to travel to QLD in peak time, ie New Year's Day, so we accepted that availability on our way up would be limited. If I had checked the reviews for this motel, we would have kept driving. Unfortunately, I didn't and so we were ripped off to the extent of $320.00 for one unit for 2 people for ONE night. On arrival the man at reception showed no personality or interest whatsoever. Just handed over the key and a receipt. We went to the room ... no milk. My husband went to reception and there was a fridge there with small cartons of milk and a notice on the fridge door admonishing guests to ensure they only took one carton per day per room. Not a good start. The remotes were wrapped in cling film, which immediately screamed COVID!! The cups were cardboard coffee cups. The rooms were tiny, old and did not offer any confidence in regard to cleanliness. All in all, this motel should not be operating at this standard. It is the worst motel we have ever stayed at in our lives, and we are 78 and 80 years old respectively. Don't know how they are still open.

  Pt Macquarie deserves a place in a Stephen King novel

  This place is anachronistic late 60’s like Port Macquarie itself. It feels like a Stephen King novel. The remotes for the not-so-smart tv and aircon in glad wrap was an extra touch. The town itself is a huge disappointment avoid it at all costs

  I was only looking for somewhere affordable, clean, quiet and comfortable to stay during my drive between Brisbane and Canberra. This is a basic motel but it met all my requirements, including good WiFi. It had strict post-COVID hygiene practices. My only slight disappointment was traffic noise until around 10pm and from 6am, but this was dampened by closing the bathroom door and leaving the airconditioner on over night.
