The hotel is conveniently located just a 10-minute drive from the airport and only 5 minutes’ walk to the shops and eateries in Cairns' CBD.

Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities.     The Ramada Hotel at Cairns City Centre is handily located on the edge of the city and opposite the Aquarium. The hotel is very old and looks to have had a few renovations which haven't been that successful. No curtains means that it is hard to sleep during the day as there is so much light coming though the wooded louvres. broken louvres make it easier for people to see into the room. Efforts to renovate the bathroom were ok except for the permanent water leak on the floor.     Friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately for us the odour of strong bleach didnt let up and was very uncomfortable. We stayed out as late as we good for minimum time in the room.     The location of the hotel is excellent—within walking distance of the main esplanade and the city centre, with cafés, restaurants, supermarkets, and recreational facilities all close by. This made getting around very convenient.The hotel itself is a bit outdated, and according to the website, the last renovation was in 2005, so it would benefit from a refreshed look. That said, the area where I stayed was quiet with no noticeable noise, which made the stay comfortable. The room was decently clean and overall good value for money.One small inconvenience was that each time I needed to speak with reception, I had to ring the bell, and sometimes staff didn’t notice it right away. Having someone present at the front desk more consistently would improve the experience.Overall, my stay was decent, and I didn’t have much to complain about during my time in Cairns.     Bath/shower is an accident waiting to happen

    Got in after midnight and was gone by 6.30am. Not much to report but shower/bath design is a nightmare. Too easy to slip and fall. While certain rooms show dated design, some guests love that and actively choose to book them for their Queenslander style and vintage aesthetics. But not everyone is the same, and our newly renovated Tropica rooms take this into account, offering walk-in rain showers, blackout blinds instead of louvers, and a much more modern layout.
