    Liked · The cost was the best thing about our stay (unfortunately).We have stayed at the Garden City Hotel a number of times previously as it's close to family who we visit, so that's why we stayed here again.The staff told us that the hotel was about to undergo a major renovation, which is good timing. Even though the room furnishing are a little worn out, the linen and bathroom towels etc. were crisp and clean, which is always a good thing. Rooms have all the usual motel facilities - hair dryer, safe, iron and ironing board, limited mini bar, tea/coffee, kettle. Disliked · Check-in was a bit slow as the young woman at reception was fairly new. The hotel was almost empty for our stay (it was a bit weird to be in a hotel so quiet) and even with it being empty were initially allocated to rooms on the lower level, next to the guest laundry and lift. These rooms were dingy, dark, dusty and musty smelling. We asked to be moved and were reallocated to rooms on the higher level for no extra cost, which was great.These rooms are much brighter and fresher, however the furnishings are worn out and showing wear and tear. The bed was uncomfortable and carpets needed a good clean. There were a couple of small mud patches on the hallway carpet for the 2 days we stayed - not sure if housekeeping vaccumed these carpets over the weekend.The restaurant was closed at the weekends, so no dinner option on-site, however the Harmonie Club next door was great. Their schnitzels were amazing!!

    We like this place,well priced,comfortable rooms,very quiet setting,bloody good showers,great beds,one of the rare places now were you have Foxtel for the footy,wife and I really rate the on-site restaurant..its only open mon-thurs for dinner..but delicious meals..the lamb shanks a specialty..great steaks..the 7 days a week buffet breakfast is very good..try em out.😊

    Rooms are old and tired, needs refurbishing. Had to change rooms as some of them smells and the sheets as well although the sheets were clean but just smells!!!And Best Western has been hacked as I received what seems to be a communication from Best Western to give my credit card details; again, to confirm my booking a day before arrival. It was only when I thought it was odd and when I call Best Western Garden City, they told me not to click on the link as they have been hacked. Since they are aware of this, why did they not inform their pending guests?!!!!Irresponsible and could have jeopardised by personal credit card details to scammers. Best Western Corporate/Executives need to be accountable for this failure to communicate to their guests when they already knew of the I.T. breach.

    This hotel was very well located, easy drive to all places we wanted to visit. It was very clean and the room was spacious with great bench space for two women. The staff were very helpful and polite. The lift was an asset and the room was airy and bright. It was very quiet and access was very easy. Even though we did not swim in The pool it was very enjoyable to unwind sitting in the delightful oasis style garden The cost was very affordable compared to other hotels we looked at. I would definitely stay there again.

    This is my go-to hotel in Canberra. This is my third or forth stay at this hotel. Easy to get to if you're travelling south from Sydney. Good size rooms. It's clean and has comfortable beds. Plenty of hot wather in the bathroom and good pillows. On demand movies. Quiet location. Very good value.Free parking in the grounds or under-cover. Friendly staff.The German Club is within easy walking distance for a night out.
