Location

This hotel enjoys a central location in the heart of Canberra City CBD, on the corner of London Circuit and Akuna Street. Across the road lies all the culture and excitement of the Canberra Theatre Centre. The hotel is within easy walking distance of numerous shops, links to the public transport network, Canberra’s main shopping centre, boutiques, restaurants and bars. Sydney is 3 hours’ drive and Canberra Airport is just 8 km away.

Facility

43 apartments and 11 studios are located on 9 storeys and can be reached by lift. English-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities available at the apartment hotel include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. Guests can browse a number of shops, including a supermarket. Additional amenities include a TV room and a playroom. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a 24-hour security service, room service and a laundry service. A fax machine is on hand for guests' business and communication needs.

Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. All rooms are carpeted and have a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Separate bedrooms are available. Extra beds can be requested. A safe and a minibar are also available. As a special feature, bathrooms are also stocked with cosmetic products and a selection of towels. The hotel has family rooms and 54 non-smoking rooms.

Excellent swimming awaits guests at the indoor pool. Fine weather can be enjoyed on the terrace. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation.     Well Located Hotel But Only Average Stay

    The Hotel is well located within the heart of the CBD. The service was good, the room cleanliness was average. My stay wasn't great because each night on multiple occasions i was woken up by an alarm and voiceover from the courtyard of an adjacent premises. Whilst i appreciate that this is not the hotel's fault, unlike my colleagues who stayed in other rooms, my room faced the area in which the alarm would set off and meant my sleep was badly interrupted each night. The hotel could do with some updating too.

    I am writing this review so hopefully nobody else has to have a similar experience to us. Let’s start with a few positives: good location in the city in terms of local food and transport, comfortable mattress, washing machine in room. Now for the rest. I’m writing this at 2am once again wide awake while people from the backpackers opposite scream and carry on. There is no noise insulation at all - we can hear all the drunks, all the cars and every day at 7am the street sweeper wakes us up. We have been woken up several times every single night of our stay. The sound is so bad we may as well just not have a window. You can hear conversations on the street word for word. On top of that, the service has been abysmal. We have had one room service in 10 days (which is fine, part of being a long stay) but no detergent and one dishwasher capsule. One washing machine powder. One bin bag in the tiny bin and no other options. Then there’s my 6 attempts to arrange a late checkout and every time it’s been “no we don’t have that on the record from the last time we confirmed it”. And every time they give different rules and times I have to check out. Then don’t note it so when I ask the next day nothing is on the record and I don’t have a late checkout. They offer to hold your luggage after checkout….but couldn’t handle two sets of it being dropped at different times on check out day. And don’t even get me started on their “customer working lounge” with one power point, no tables and six different answers to if I can use it on the day I checkout.Top floor is only accessible by stairs with no lift which is a problem for those with a disability. Spa is listed on amenities still but has been done for years. We also requested an accessible room but this obviously went the same way as the late checkout requests since all rooms have a bath shower. Their design for this is really unsafe as no side rail to get out, only get in. And to finish….the wifi is effectively useless. Bring your own wifi / internet solution as no matter what time of day it’s basically unusable. Just…no. Don’t stay here. There are places at similar price point across the road which are far nicer and have proper noise proofing.

    Great hotel in the commercial center of Canberra.

    First, the location: 5-7 minutes walk to the commercial center of Canberra (City Center and City Walk - two large malls with every type of shop you may want to see as a visitor to Canberra).The room we had was sparkling clean, confortable in terms of space, and quiet.The in-room kitchen had everything needed for a cook-at-home alternative to the city restaurants which have great food, but not cheap. The in-room washer and dryer saved us the cost of laudy services in town.The building has a an indoor pool, usable year-round, and a guest launge for sitting, reading or working on a computer.We had only one problem that was rapidly solved: the Wi-Fi signal in the room was weak, and dropped the internet connection from time to time. The reception staff gave us a portable router from the telecom company Optus. It solved the problem 100%, by privinding a strong, stable and high speed connection to the internet.Overall, a great experience suitable for both business trips and family vacations.
