    When visiting Canberra, my wife and I always stay at the Diplomat Hotel. Over the years we have found this hotel to be absolutely what we need both convenient location and great atmosphere. The rooms are always clean and spacious. On our last visit. We dined in the hotel restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of the menu. The staff were eager to please and very professional. We will be planning our next visit to Canberra soon and definitely staying at the Diplomat Hotel.

    I can highly recommend this hotel. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Canberra train station and is clean and fresh with lovely decor. The staff are all extremely friendly and accommodating and our king room was very spacious and comfortable. The bar and restaurant are fantastic, well priced and the food was cooked fresh to order and tasted delicious. The room was well priced and the hotel amenities are great. I will definitely be staying there again.     We really enjoyed our 4 nights! Every staff member had a smile on their face as they made our stay very memorable! What a unique setting! Quiet, clean & very friendly! Happy Hour gave us free drinks & canapés and brilliant service. The elevator, the laundry, the underground parking, the coffee machine…..brilliant!     We left after 2-3 hours I’m in a moon boot shower in tub unable to use, room on busy round about very noisy, cover missing of light exposed wires in room reported to front desk asked for refund said he would ask management no response from hotel.We booked another hotel for the evening.. Very Disappointing Ramada Diplomat Canberra, Owner at Ramada by Wyndham Diplomat Canberra, responded to this review Dear Derek,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are genuinely sorry to hear that your stay did not meet expectations and regret that you and your companion departed unsatisfied.We would, however, like to clarify a few points regarding your visit. When the matter was discussed with management during your stay, you weren't wearing a moonboot, and the concern raised was regarding traffic noise from the nearby roundabout. In response, our manager immediately offered to relocate you to an alternate room, however this offer was declined.At no stage during check-in or while the matter was being discussed were we made aware of any mobility concerns, difficulties accessing the shower, or maintenance issues. Had you been wearing the aforementioned moonboot, or had we been informed of your requirement for easier bathroom access, we would have been more than happy to allocate one of our rooms with a walk-in shower instead.We do always encourage guests to notify us of any accessibility requirements prior to arrival where possible, as this allows us to ensure the most suitable room is assigned and helps us provide the best possible experience.We regret that you chose to depart early and stay elsewhere, despite our efforts to offer an alternative room on the evening.     Relaxing atmosphere for return trips to Canberra in great location

    Our 3rd stay at this hotel as we like the location and oversized rooms. The open plan design of the foyer, bar and restaurant is very relaxing. The retro feel of the 90's interior is welcoming and well maintained.
