    We stayed at Rydges Forrest for 1 nights to visit the war memorial.The hotel is near Manuka shopping precinct and other main attractions but too far to walk.The room was a good size and the bed comfortable. It was very quiet although the refrigerator was noisy.there was no coffee pod machine in the room and there was only filtered coffee at breakfast.parking was $ 25 per day with unlimited entry,

    Rydges is a well-presented hotel located only a 10 minute walk from Manuka. The room was clean and staff were friendly. The only annoying part was the screaming toddlers running up and down the hallway at 11pm.The pool and gym facilities were really cool.

    Our first room was 212 located along one of the corridors overlooking the central garden atrium. It was a a LONG walk to the room, and a challenge for someone using a walker. We asked reception if we could get a room closer to the lift and they got us an identical room, 10 metres from the lift. THANK YOU !! The AC was freezing for the first two days, but on the third day, we got back from the Cotter at 6 pm, at 9:45 pm I rang Ali, the maintenance man and he came straight up, fooled with the controls, stood on the suitcase holder and said it is working, then offered to move us to another room where it was working or bring up a fan, which option we chose, a big fella, very happy. It hadn't fixed the AC but the big fan Ali brought up did the trick. The beds, like all Rydges motels, were superb. We had a Groupon booking which included free parking $25/night and two free buffet breakfasts. The buffet breakfasts were standard for motels of this type but the hash browns were disappointing, very overcooked and dry, so chewy I couldn't eat them. The rest was good. I LOVED the Licence Plate Recognition cameras to get into the carpark, no fiddling around trying to reach out of your car to swipe a card or anything, it just saw me coming and lifted the gate immediately, every single time, brilliant. The disabled parking next to the left was great. It had a huge flatscreen, excellent WiFi speeds, 250 Mbps, best I've ever had in a motel. A small annoyance was the power points near the bed were underneath a bedside table and difficult to access for someone with mobility issues. The bathroom was ok, the door entrance was a bit squeezy for a large framed man and the toilet roll holder poorly placed. As is normal in large hotels, no toilet cleaning brush which always annoys me but I understand.Overall I would definitely stay there again and the staff were outstanding, very helpful in resolving a couple of issues that we had. Shout out to Ali the maintenance guy.

    We have stayed at Ridges previously and overall experience about the same. The hotel has nice overall presentation but shows lots of wear around the edges. Positives - for us a great location and easy walk to Kingston Hotel, - room was very spacious and had the basic necessities you would expect, - price was good (weekend), - included breakfast was quite descent, - parking on-site was only $10 which is great.Not so great - the furnishings are older and show obvious wear, - bathroom pretty good but could be much cleaner, - public areas around thr bar and breakfast area were not maintained and cleanliness or lack thereof very evident, a decent clean/vacuum and elbow grease would result in a much nicer presentation.Interaction with staff was minimal but no issue.Would consider returning when back in ACT.
