    My wife and I spent two nights at The Clairfield Hotel in Mudgee which we were visiting for the first time to do wine tasting. The hotel has been massively renovated, so everything is fresh with a number of new areas. On arrival we were greeted by very friendly welcoming staff. The hotel has lots of facilities including a swimming pool, and outside fire with nice seats, plus a bar and restaurants. The restaurant was only steps from our room which was very handy after a long day's drive.The room was completely refreshed, however it was small, but this did not worry us as we were not there to spend a lot of time in the room. The bed was a very comfortable king bed, so we had really good sleeps. The bathroom was well set out with a good supply of liquid soap, hand cream, body wash shampoo and hair conditioner. The room was very clean and well kept.The hotel is near the main road but there no noise, the rooms are generally very quiet.My wife and I enjoyed our two night stay in The Clairfield Hotel so we are happy to give it a score of 5 stars out of 5.

    A good base to explore the region

    We stayed in a harvest room which was very spacious with plenty of natural light. The allocated parking was straight out the front and down the stairs. Room was very nice and modern and away from the traffic noise. Comfortable bed and pillows. Highly recommend if looking for a place to base yourself and explore the area for a few days

    This hotel is quite upmarket but very good value. We chose a small suite and it was perfect for three nights. King bed, excellent linen, spacious living area with a small table. Fresh shortbread and apples were a nice touch. The room is well appointed, with a seperate toilet, lots of cupboard space, and a large rain shower. Nice toiletries. Bed was comfortable. We were upstairs and somewhat to the back so despite being on a main road it was very quiet. I love the padded reading nook window too.Friendly staff, easy checkin. Great pool area. You can dine on-site if you wish. Would definitely stay again.

    Enjoyable stop over

    We enjoyed our one night stopover at Mudgee in this newly renovated motel. An Olive room was available for one night stay (unlike some rooms that have a minimum 2 nights) comfortable and quiet, smallish but parking directly outside room door. Located out of the township, it was really convenient to eat dinner and breakfast in Gigi's restaurant rather than drive back into town - dinner menu was great - breakfast also fine but irritating when I book a room and breakfast as promoted on their website to be carefully instructed by the waiter on being seated how many juices, meals and coffees I can have with my "package". If I choose to have 2 coffees with my breakfast I am seriously fine to pay for it! I can see where they are going with this "hotel", but I am not sure they have quite arrived there yet- hospitality is a lot more than freshly renovated rooms and facilities. We have previously stayed at Perry Street when in Mudgee and would probably return there rather than visit The Clairfield again.

    Booked 2 nights accommodation in a Queen Olive Room, using Booking.com with a Genius bonus. The room rate was $254/night.The hotel is away from the commercial area of Mudgee.A welcoming check in where we were allocated Room 14. Located towards the back of the complex with numbered carparking out the front of the room. This section is single storey. A nicely decorated comfortable room. Theres an openable window in the room, opening towards the back boundary. There is no view. Plenty of power points.The air con is quiet & efficient. The tv has complementary netflix. Wifi is fast & efficient.The bed very comfortable. A courtesy tray with teas coffee & biscuits together with 3 apples provided. Our room was not serviced by the time we returned about 1pm on our second day, however, I asked cleaning staff for additional tea, coffee & an additional foot mat.The ensuite is smallish. The walk in shower has an excellent rainshower head. Plunger type toilettries are provided. Openable window here too.We ate dinner one night & breakfast one morning in Gigi's. The food was excellent. We also used the bar area during Happy Hour. Very reasonable wine prices.Our stay was very comfortable & we enjoyed having a lovely restaurant on the premises.
