  Great views but a shabby grubby apartment and hopeless communication.

  Apparently many of these apartments are privately owned which means standards vary tremendously. Unfortunately the one we stayed in needed a lot of work to bring it up to a reasonable standard. Carpets were grubby. Light fittings were rusty and the ceiling fan wobbled alarmingly. One of the bathroom drawers had no bottom panel. Cleanliness was also substandard. There was a half-eaten energy bar in one bedroom. We had to wash the dirty mugs before we could have a cup of tea. Then the Wi-Fi didn't work. Tried to call Reception but the phone also didn't work. We were told the Wi-Fi problem had been reported earlier but it couldn't be fixed until the next day. In fact it was never fixed, We were given a code for another apartment's Wi-Fi after complaining again on the second day. Why we weren't given this earlier I don't know, but it appeared that the only way to get any service from Reception was to keep complaining. This was very frustrating.The view from the apartment was spectacular and we were lucky enough to see several whales. The location was an easy walk to the centre of the resort and close to restaurants. It was good to have cooking and washing facilities and we appreciated each room having its own bathroom.I've been very envious of some people who wrote reviews of different apartments which were evidently much nicer. If you're lucky to get a well-maintained apartment where everything works and is cleaned, this would be a great place to stay. Unfortunately it appears to be pot luck which apartment you're allocated and in the event of problems Reception don't seem to be able to take action.   Mixed bag!

  We visited as a group of 5 in May 2025. We were there for 4 nights. We had a 2 bedroom suite. They brought in a fold out bed for the teenager. The main issues i had were the quality of the wifi, the fact we had 1 towel each for the week and would be charged for extras, there was no room cleaning. I have not experienced that in any other hotel before. There was a lot of construction going on around the hotel, we actually enjoyed the hustle and bustle but it could be an issue for those wanting quiet or sleep ins past 6am! The room was in need of a deep clean, and a good refresh overall.   The Unit we stayed in could do with a whole refresh. Very outdated especially both bathrooms, black mould on ceiling and in shower ensuite, main bathroom leaking taps and bath tub had chips. Curtains in 2nd room were dirty Lamps were very dusty. Fans the coating was peeling off Asked for an apartment nothing above 10th floor and upon check put on level 20.   Dated but comfortable

  Dated but comfortable. Surfer beach is still damaged from cyclone but the hotel is across the road from accessible entry to beach with flags and lifeguards. Indoor heated pool and spa fantastic. Lifts and hallways smelly and slow. I wouldn’t use kitchen except for toast and kettle the cooktop is slow and limited cookware. There is a bath which was great for little ones.   Fun family times in an ideal location.

  Fantastic value for money, location and facilities. Obviously not going to reach the heights of others in the area but is perfect for a family on an adventure with so much to do in the area. Really enjoyed the run, beach dip, pool and sauna routine available each morning.
