Location

There is nothing quite like a holiday on Australia's Gold Coast. Guests may take in beautiful beaches (the nearest just one block away), quaint hinterland towns, theme parks, shopping and adventure activities, and get an experience quite unlike any other. The hotel is just 20 minutes from Coolangatta, while Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, is about a 60-minute drive away. Both destinations provide well-serviced airports.

Facility

The resort has 50 apartments and 50 double rooms, which are located on 11 storeys and are reachable by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a cash machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The resort offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. The grounds of the resort feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional facilities include a playroom. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a 24-hour security service, a car hire service, room service, an alarm call service and a laundry service. Active guests can make use of the bicycle hire service to explore the surrounding area. A fax machine is available for guests' business needs.

Rooms

Rooms feature a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure comfortable indoor temperatures. Guests can enjoy the view of the city from a balcony or terrace. All rooms are carpeted and have a queen-size bed, a king-size bed or a sofa bed. Separate bedrooms are available. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. For self-catering guests, there is a well-equipped kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, tea/coffee station and dishwasher. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a TV and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub, as well as a hairdryer. Cosmetic products and a selection of towels provide additional comfort in the bathrooms. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. The resort has family rooms and 100 non-smoking rooms.

Sport

A dip in the refreshing outdoor pool is not to be missed. Even on grey days, guests can always go for a swim in the indoor pool. Refreshing drinks at the pool bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub offer the perfect way to unwind. Sun loungers and parasols are available on the sun terrace. For guests who wish to keep active, cycling/mountain biking, tennis and golf are available. Sport and leisure facilities at the resort include a gym, billiards and squash. A spa, a sauna and steam bath are available in the wellness area. The complex offers plenty of activities and entertainment options, including an entertainment programme, live music, a dance club and a casino.

Meals

Dining facilities include a non-smoking restaurant, a café and a bar. At breakfast, guests serve themselves at the generous buffet. Various dishes can be ordered à la carte for lunch and dinner. Staff are also happy to provide children's meals. Alcoholic beverages are available.

    We stayed one night to look after our grandson whilst our daughter and husband were at a wedding onsite. The check in process was seamless and our room was, warm, inviting, clean and very comfy beds. We did pop into bar for a quick drink and enjoyed our yummy free cocktail thank you. The free snacks and water in room were a nice touch too. Late check out was very welcoming as we had a late night with baby. Would definitely book again

    Loved it! We have visited the Island several times and sat on the rooftop for drinks. But we had a night out in Surfers and wanted to stay over, despite only living 20 mins away so signed up to be a member with them and got an awesome deal on a room! We were also given 4 drinks vouchers on arrival - score! So had a couple of cocktails each to warm up before we headed out. The lifts are a bit old looking, but the rooms and reception are lovely. A few of my colleagues stayed too! We liked it so much, that we are returning to stay as a family next month for a couple of nights before we head home to Scotland.

    D0's: Lovely clean accommodation, plenty of toiletries, great water pressure, plenty of linen supplied, lovely, fully equipped kitchenette; love staying at The Island; staff were friendly and helpful.Thank you kindly to management for sorting parking on Saturday; it didn't go unnoticed.

    3 sleepless nights due to music playing in the Hotel pub below. I would never go back there. The establishment needs to decide - Hotel or a venue for extremely loud music? The 2 are incompatible.

    The hotel location is very good, very close to Paradise and with many restaurants nearby. However, the hotel facilities are quite old and worn. The lift felt like it could break down at any time. The bathroom in the room had no exhaust fan, there was mould on the walls, stains on the bathroom door, and a thick layer of dust behind the air conditioner. The room also had a musty smell. Fortunately, there were no ants or cockroaches.Housekeeping was done daily, and complimentary snacks and milk were provided, which was nice. However, it was very noisy every night—even with the balcony door closed, the noise still came through.We needed Billy to handle our check-in and you to assist with check-out, but the front desk did not allow this.
