  Stayed in ' lodge' cabin.4 adults.Yes they are old and need a definitely need a makeover.Quiet a few problems.The oven worked which had oven trays in it which felt greasy and had to be washed before use.There were no pilot lights on the gas cookers on top of stove so couldnt use them.So had oven or microwave only to cook with.The bbq at the cabin was discusting.We had bought our own food to cook knowing there was a stove from staying there previously and so weren't prepared to cook using a microwave.Bowls and cutlery all dirty.Had to wash things before using them.No dish cloth to wipe bench,table etc just a well used scourer pad.Food stains on placemats and coasters.The information booklet is very outdated.Previous owners would ensure there was plenty of fire wood for your stay.There was no wood supplied .( cabin had open fire) Glad we had bought some with us .Thankfully there was a split system installed.There was a terrible possum pee smell in the lounge.Grounds look unkempt.Office stinks of cigarette smoke and very dirty.We were asked to pay cash.Last time we stayed was in 2022 and it was a wonderful experience..friendly host that ensured our stay was hassle free and relaxing...not this timeVery disappointing this time...we have stayed several times before and its been a wonderful experience. We will be choosing accommodation elsewhere next time we visit HG.

  My partner booked this place to stay at for a birthday weekend she had organized for me.She was called at 10pm from a mobile number a couple of nights before we were due to arrive. Spoken to very rudely on the phone when she called back to see what was wrong. As she was on the phone talking to the guy who called, she had a missed call from the same mobile number.We arrived on Friday 20/2/2026, no one at reception. Just paperwork to sign and keys on top of paperwork. Go to the room and it was not the room my partner had booked. She had booked a room with a spa, no spa.We call the number at reception and got told he would be 15 minutes. Waited and waited, 30 minutes later some other guests showed up. They called the same number and got told 3 minutes. About 5 minutes later he showed up, so was not very happy with that.He dealt with the other guests first and was very nice to them. When my partner spoke to him he was rude and honestly didn't care. He was trying to blame booking.com as that's where she booked it through. The spa room she had booked had been given to someone else and he said he couldn't do anything about it. Didn't offer and sort of compensation for the mistake, just a really bad apology and that was it. Just kept going around in circles so just went to the room. Honestly does not look anything like the pictures on the web page!My partner was quite upset as she wanted things to be perfect for me for the weekend. I tried to have a talk to him and told him how upset she was. I will admit, a few choice words did come out. Once again though just went round in circles. We called booking.com and they said we needed to speak to the property.There was no accountability for the mistake, did not seem to care either. Just a rude, jumped up, poor excuse for a human.WOULD NOT RECOMMEND staying here to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere else.Not sure if his lack of care has anything to do with the fact we are gay, but it definitely felt like it!Not a good experience at all!

  Stayed in Febuary 2026, @ Mountain View motor Inn, had to book outselves in at the reception.At first look it was nice, surrounded by trees, real country area, just a couple of km from Halls Gap. should of taken pictures of the disrepair., lacking maintence.We stayed in house 5, little bit away from others except near to cabin/house 6. Our parking area was inbetween 5 & 6, no shaded cover or carport, clthes line out the back, un- maintained area We had a Spa, that was dirty, slimy stuff came out of jets, King bed was ok, comfortable, Doona cover had stains underneath, mattress protector needs replacing due to stains. Air con was old but worked on heat & cool, Wifi what Wifi, didnt work so dont rely on it ! Had to ring Khalid for milk, he was apologetic & there alone. Pool was near recetion at the front, very dirty, cloudy & leaves on the bottom still had the pool cleaning machine in it but not connected. Tennis courts hadnt been used in a long time, net was broken, not able to access them either due to no clear walk way or parking, Gardens, Roads & area was not maintained, solar light to cabins & on the roads to cabins were either hidden in trees or not working. Dead brances, along the road. Nothing was as pictured when looking online, No beautiful green grass, No inviting clean sparkling pool. Were going to stay the weekend & enjoy it but 1 night changed that. Sorry Wont be back or refere other as its NOT as offered ! Would be a beautiful place to stay if it presented like it did in photos.

  Hi the place was clean it is placed in a good spot in the middle of the zoo and town internet no good but besides that for the price I would recommend it the staff is friendly

  Great spot out of town (no cicada noise!) with pool, free wifi and wildlife. Was great for our budget - meant we could splurge on dinner- and comfortable. We'd stay again for sure!
