    We booked a stay for 3 nights but we stayed here for 20 minutes. The acco wasn't cleaned properly and there was a very small amount of kitchen gear, while it should be self contained cabin, but we disagree about that. There is also no WIFI, which is very strange today.The cabin doesn't look appealing, it made as feel sad, so we wanted to leave. On another location should be the reception, so we went there, but no reception and nobody there. Also not possible to phone somebody.But this was not the worst. We went to another place and enjoyed it very much. We already paid for the first night but we were, after we left, also charged for the other night9s). We mailed with them but refund was not possible. I had to contact my bank to get a refund.I never place a review but I wanted to make time to say to people, don't go to this place.

    Two sites of these Coastal Villas: we stayed at 97 Scenic Drive. Our unit had a sea view between the trees, so we could see the many black swans. Very clean and comfortable 2 bedroom unit. The large kitchen was well stocked with all two of us needed for 5 nights. A new fridge arrived for our unit and the bathroom was newly renovated and spotlessly clean, so gradually these units will be even better for very reasonably priced accommodation.Brian and Kylie were perfect hosts - invited us to feed fish to the pelicans. Fun for city slickers like us. Not only did they introduce us to the pelicans, but met us immediately we arrived, picked up our order of oysters (we were a few kilometers from the oyster shop), encouraged us to pick the wild rocket growing abundantly, and even offered us some of their whiting, flour, butter, and the rocket, which we had for our last dinner. So generous.Wifi is not a strong connection, but internet isn't steady in many parts of the island. Don't hesitate about staying at Kangaroo Island Coastal Villas; it's great value and has great hosts.

    Great base for adventures on the Island

    This accomodation was really lovely and served us well for three nights on the Island. We had been camping for the last week so welcomed the warm shower, stovetop, fridge and washing machine with open arms! The washing machine is available to all and is based on an honesty donation of $4. The friendly owner met us at the entrance and introduced us to the accomodation and had heaps of wonderful recommendations for things to see and do around the Island.It is a nice quiet area that backs onto a bush reserve which was a nice treat for waking up to chirping birds.Parking was also available and right out the front of the villa. Great base to get to lots of the main attractions on the Island. It's clean and tidy and has everything couples or families would need to make themselves at home for a few days. I would definitely stay again.

    What a surprise!

    We weren’t sure what to expect and so were really happily surprised. Lovely big 2 bedroom unit (unit 9) with a big kitchen and huge fridge. Electric frying pan, portable cook top and convection microwave. All the kitchen utensils you could want. Big bathroom and all linen - including towels provided! The unit opened up onto the front yard with views to the river. A really lovely, affordable place to stay with lovely managers. We’ll be back!!

    Our ferry was cancelled with bad weather so instead of staying in Kingscote again we decided to head to American River. The place was modern, clean, easy to get it and the manager fabulous to speak with. Highly recommend for a beautiful location, clean modern villas at affordable pricing. Also head to The Shed (400m down the road) for Tues, Fri and Saturday meals - to die for!
