    Never again

Booked a spa suite only to arrive to find we didn’t get one.Floors were absolutely disgusting our feet were black! I had to mop the floor with a hand towel! The room smelt extremely bad of cat pee to which we did notice several feral cats hanging around and contemplating on not sting the night there, Reception didn’t care, no offer of refund or anything for not getting the room I booked and paid for! This is the 3rd time we have stayed there and every time had an issueWon’t be staying again

PUTRID! Unsanitary & unfit for humans

    rating28 Apr 2026

Everything you read is true - dirty sheets, mould, noisy, unhygienic. The rudest manager I’ve ever met. You’d be better off rough sleeping. Plenty more of drug dealers and night workers. Do not bring your family here.

If you value your safety, go elsewhere.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE I’VE HAD.Only gets 1 star because I can’t go any lower. If you value your safety or any kind of accommodations, avoid like the plague.I arrived at 1:25am after an 11-hour drive from Bundaberg (solo female traveller, disabled Navy veteran) to find I had been given TWO different rooms, and couldn’t access either of them. Both codes failed. I called the after-hours numbers multiple times around 2am with no answer.I was left stranded in the middle of the night with my dogs, forced to walk across the road to the shady McDonald’s just to use the bathroom, asking staff to watch my dogs while I went in. If you’re a woman travelling alone, you’ll understand exactly how unsafe that feels. On the walk back from McDonald’s, there were people in one of the rooms I had been provided codes for. This is beyond unsafe and a clear failure in the booking systems. With no help available, I had no choice but to sleep in my car. I had to string up a crate cover I had in the boot, just to have some kind of privacy blocking my windscreen while I slept in this very public and shady carpark. In the morning, even the housekeeper couldn’t get into the room, confirming it wasn’t user error. Reception staff were dismissive and told me I “should have kept calling.” No empathy, no urgency, no accountability. Tony Hughes could not have cared less about the situation I was put in. I gave him a serve and was told I could have a service credit.I wasn’t offered a shower, a room, or even basic access to facilities. I had to make a coffee by boiling my own water on the porch of the room I couldn’t access with my portable gas stove just to have some kind of up and go for my long drive home. I then had to go back to McDonald’s to change clothes and wash my face in a public bathroom. To make matters worse, I’ve since seen multiple reviews describing the exact same issue with after-hours check-in. This is clearly an ongoing problem.I paid $186 and after standing my ground was offered a refund instead, however, I only received partial refund of $126.This isn’t just poor service, it’s a complete failure of duty of care. No one should ever be left in that situation.Avoid if you value safety, especially if travelling alone. I will be escalating this through further channels as it’s entirely unacceptable.

FILTHLY - OVERPRICED - POOL CLOSED

    rating03 Jan 2026

Booked for 5 nights1. The pool is closed due to construction and there is no mention on website of this - false advertising and should be advised on website.2 There is a smell in the bathroom from the drain 3. Kitchen drawer broken 4. Cockroaches in the room Has hardly any cutlery only a few plates, bowls and mug a few saucepans but no stirring spoonsI booked this property for the pool as not near the beach. I found the property not worth what I was charged for. I will never ever stay here and I recommend you don’t book here as the units are not clean and staff don’t careWhen I complained about this property the office staff said they would get it sorted. No apology or anything and just fobbed me off I said I should be reimbursed but they just ignored me.

The worst experience staying in paid accommodation I will ever have

    rating11 Oct 2025

Stayed at Jesmond a months ago but didn’t want to write a review while I was still annoyed. This was and will likely remain the worst experience staying in paid accommodation I will ever have. Stayed in two bedroom apartment which they charged $300 for one night.Arrived at check in time and went through the check in process, I thought. Managed to find our room, but when trying to entre the apartment found the cleaners having their lunch at the table in their room. We were promptly told to leave and come back in an hour as they wanted to finish their lunch and then would clean the room. It’s fair they get a lunch break, but clearly bad management was at fault here.So I went back to reception to see what could be done. The man I spoke to at reception came back to the room with me, spoke with the cleaners and then told me to wait patiently outside for 40-45 minutes until they cleaned the room. I had my disabled mother-in-law with me so wanted to see if something could be done sooner. So again I went back to reception to speak to the manager who was dealing with two other customers complaining about being checked in and the rooms not having been cleaned yet. After a 10 minute wait whilst the manager tried to deal with the other issues and ignoring me to take phone calls I got to speak to him. I explained the issue and asked if a small discount could be offered for being messed around and was told; ‘I am the boss and the buck stops with me, you’re not getting any discount, I’ll see if I can find you another room so stop your whinging.’ Not even exaggerating, that’s what he said word for word, no wonder the staff also have no respect for guests. The manager put us in another room, so we picked up all our gear an carried it to another room only to find that he’d now put us in room that was on the second floor and expected my mother-in-law to somehow get her walking frame up some narrow stairs. So back I go to reception for the third time to let the manager know we can’t use this room. I’m again met with contempt and told; ‘too bad you’ll have to wait for the other room.’ I could accept being treated they way I did if I was yelling and screaming but I didn’t raise my voice or anything just tried to express my frustration and got totally disrespected. So we sit in out car for the next half an hour until the room is ready. Get in the room and the remotes for the TV don’t work so you guessed it another visit to reception to find out the remotes aren’t even for the TV in the room.In addition to this I had to park my car on the nature strip out the front of the property next to a main road as every spot in the property was taken. Also those who got parking were having to wake each other up at 6am for a game of musical cars as the parking is so narrow cars could get out without asking others to move their cars. The room itself was ok. Electric cook top wasn’t working so after buying food to cook had to go get take away. Mother-in-law couldn't shower as they put us in a room where you had to climb down into a spa to bath. There is a lot of construction near the property, and it is on a very busy road. Lots of food options close by and a supermarket. We only stayed as we couldn’t find any pet friendly accommodation at short notice.Only stay there if you are looking to pay for the privilege of being treated with contempt.Nit letting me post photos, will try to add later.
