  Stayed at the Amity for four nights in a joint family room.Location was good, rooms were clean enough but, everything else was fairly average. The outside of our room often smelt like raw sewage. The joint rooms were poorly set up if my child closed door in their room the only way to get in was to go outside through the front door so very unpractical for young families. The rooms had no smart tvs, the wifi was absolutely terrible and there was no easy access power points to charge our phones so had to pull bed out to access them. The queen bed seemed more like a double and was very uncomfortable, slept terribly. The shower kept running hot the cold so I had to adjust every minute as not to burn myself or freeze. The pool closed at 7 which gave us little time to use in the evening in summer should be open until 8pm. Also whilst staying there the pool was actually closed for most of the day for cleaning and chemical treatment, so we were unable to use it for entire day as we returned home just before closing. Overall this place is pretty average and I would not recommend staying there for more than one night if you can help it. One of our room types is our interconnecting rooms, these are popular with families/ small groups or 2 couples travelling together. There is an interconnecting door, that separates the 2 identical rooms, as is standard in this room type. The doors are one way doors, necessary for "interconnecting rooms" to ensure if one of the rooms wants privacy, the room cannot be accessed by the other room or visa versa. We apologise if this did not suit your families need, however this is the exact way an interconnecting door works. We are disappointed that at no stage during your 4 days stay, did you mention any of the other issues raised to our staff. The room type you booked had a (standard) Queen bed and single bed in each room, the rooms are identical as they are advertised and photographed. In relation to your comments about the hot water system, this is an odd one as all our rooms are on the same system and we have only had good feedback about our showers, (as previous reviews can demonstrate). Again, had you mentioned this during your stay, we could have investigated your concern immediately. Sadly though, at no time was this raised with our staff. I can assure that most of our TV's are in fact "smart" TV's as we work through replacing them. Finally, our pool is open from 7am to 7pm daily, I'm sorry this did not cater to your specific need however, the pool opening time is clearly advertised on all sites and it does not remain open after our office closes for safety purposes. Whilst our guests comfort and enjoyment is important to us, safety is our number 1 priority. Being a 24-hour operating business, there really is never a "good" time to close it for maintenance, however, it may be necessary from time to time to shut the pool for treatment for a short period, this is only ever for up to 2 hours at a time. This ensures the water safety is maintained, unfortunately, a necessary event that cannot be avoided. We are sincerely disappointed you were less than happy with your stay, however, we do feel that a few of the issues or queries raised could have been addressed in real time, had you mentioned them to any of our staff members. Our interconnecting rooms are a popular room type, for families, we would have been more than happy to explain how and why they are set up the way they are. We do hope, despite your feedback, you enjoyed your visit to the region.

  Good value motel - well located - great for groups or families

  Motel is great value for money. Yes its an old motel but the rooms are large, our room had a queen bed and a single bed, the showers are hot, our room came with small courtyard and was situated near a communal kitchen which would be great for families - there is an outdoor bbq and a separate games room with pool table lounges tv etc. This motel has a pool and small gym and an Indian restaurant on site. I would definitely stay again - felt safe secure and at home.   Terrible Room, not a 4 star motel

  Room 33 was very out dated. The bed was comfy but that's where it ends. The curtains, tv unit, woodwork was very dusty. The bathroom was extremely old. After 1 night I awoke to very puffy red eyes as I developed an allergy because of all the dust We originally booked for 4 nights but had to leave 1 night early. I gave 2 days notice but was refused a refund. It cost me $100.00 in medication and an extra night at $374.00 at our next destination in Busselton. Not happy with Country Comfort Amity Motel Albany WA. 2 stars. Diane Hart, General Manager at Country Comfort Amity Motel, responded to this review Whilst we understand that our older facilities may not be to everyone’s taste, some people associate old with inferior, we can, however, assure you that cleanliness is our top priority and as most of our reviews show, most of our guests agree. We take pride in maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for all our guests, so your comments are particularly disappointing. Country Comfort Amity motel is a budget style motel, that offers more facilities and amenities than any other motel in the region. A licenced restaurant, gym, swimming pool, communal games area, guest kitchen and onsite laundry to mention a few. We are competitively price and offer great value for money. We understand you are dissatisfied with not being offered a refund for the last night of your booking, however, as our cancellation policy clearly states, “if you wish to cancel or change your booking you have up until 48 hours “prior” to the date of arrival to do so, at no cost”. As you had already been checked in for 2 nights, there is no refund for you choosing to leave earlier than you booked. Whilst we are sorry to hear you developed allergies whilst in Albany, sadly, this is the time of year for it and this is simply beyond our control. You did visit our reception the day after arrival on your way to the pool and did not mention that you were experiencing any allergies, it was the following day that you visited our office again, stating you wanted to stay that night but wanted to leave a day earlier than you had booked. After being advised no refund was possible you then advised you had developed allergies, despite this you still wanted to and did stay that night also. In conclusion we would suggest as you prefer new modern accommodation, when booking online, please, enquire directly with the venue to ensure it is of a vintage suitable before you commit to a booking, to avoid any future disappointment.

  A1 in every respect. Comfortable king double bed - best sleep of our 5 nights driving across Australia. Clean, quiet, spacious room. Good mini gym and pool. Friendly service at reception and quiet. Excellent dinner at onsite Indian restaurant. Highly recommended.   Lovely place!!Staff were really helpful and friendly.The site was immaculate with everything you'd need. Restaurant was closed but that's because it's under new ownership apparently. Accomodation was great. Comfy bed, good shower and fully kitted out kitchen. Would definitely stay sgain if in the area.
