Nice area but noisy with parents letting their kids scream their heads off

    rating29 Dec 2025

The pools are supposed to close at 8pm. When we swim quietly in our adjacent pool at 7.40pm the lights are turned off and we find ourselves in darkness.! And Yet in the main swim Pool loads of kids are allowed to swim late night - literally screaming their heads off with no parents around to supervise. If you dont like noise and unruly kids this place is not for you. Shame as the resort itself is pleasant with the lake, kayaks and paddle boards. Tim Hardidge, General Manager at The Sebel Twin Waters, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay at our resort. We sincerely appreciate your positive remarks about our location and amenities. We understand that noise can be a concern, particularly when families are enjoying their time at the pools. Enjoyable

Had a great week at the Sebel. We stayed in a one-bedroom unit overlooking the lake. While I’ve read some comments about certain rooms showing their age, I didn’t find that to be the case. It may not be brand new, but it’s still very comfortable and well-equipped. The only downside was having a family with young children in the unit above us—lots of running and shouting, which did affect the peace at times. Not really the hotel’s fault, and not bad enough to complain about, but it did cause a little stress on occasion.

    Nice location, terrible maintenance

    rating17 Jul 2025

What has happened here ... Paid nearly $2000 for 3 nights in a 3 bedroom 'executive' beach house. Many of the basics are missing... No bowls in the kitchen ( actually there were 2 small serving bowls), the only coffee option was a broken French. Lots of random and useless stuff in the cupboards but no decent sized pots or pans, insufficient basic cleaning gear, incomplete linens (no cases on the second pillows or soon as, and the BBQ has a gas leak and rusted beyond use. Since the partner hotel is closed, there is no onsite dining or coffee. This place would have been great 30 years ago, but oh my goodness Sebel.... Top $$$$ for 2 star service Tim Hardidge, General Manager at The Sebel Twin Waters, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of.

A little bit tired, but decent value for a group

    rating16 Feb 2025

Twin Waters is very well positioned on Queensland’s beautiful Sunshine Coast. It is located just north of the mouth of the Maroochy River - in other words, just north of the popular Mooloolaba - Alexandra Headlands - Maroochydore strip. And from Twin Waters you can drive north to Mudjimba, Marcoola and all the way north along the coastal drive to Sunshine Beach and then across to Noosa. The Sunshine Coast airport is also quite close. The Sebel Twin Waters is located a short walk (along a pleasant path and a bridge across a man made lake) from the Novotel Twin Waters, and Sebel guests can use all their facilities. The Novotel is a far bigger and more spread out hotel than the Sebel, with a definite family/ resort style vibe. The Novotel has a pool bar, a restaurant serving a buffet on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings (and every night during school holidays) and a very small deli selling a limited range of food and drinks. The Sebel by contrast seemed quieter and more relaxed, and consists of a series of apartments and beach houses. Many seem to be privately owned and occupied by permanent residents, and others - like the one we stayed in - are holiday rented. We stayed in a 3 bedroom beach house with a pool. It was a good layout for a group of friends with lots of separate spaces for people to relax. We particularly enjoyed the private pool in our beach house (although not every beach house had one of these, we noticed) and the pleasant outlook over quite a large expanse of trees and mangroves towards the Maroochy River to Maroochydore in the distance beyond. The beach house was a little tired in places but overall we thought it was good value particularly when we spilt the cost three ways for the 6 people - 3 groups of friends - we had staying. There are no restaurants or places to purchase food or drinks on site at the Sebel, so you either need to walk across to the Novotel for every meal or self cater. However, it’s only a short drive into the small Twin Waters shopping complex, where you will find a Foodworks grocery store, a cafe and restaurant, and a pharmacy. And it’s only about a 10 minute drive inland to the town of Bli Bli which has a much larger supermarket and lots of shops. Tim Hardidge, General Manager at The Sebel Twin Waters, responded to this review We very much appreciate your comments regarding your stay at The Sebel Twin Waters. It is always a pleasure to receive positive feedback. I will share your comments with our team. I am sure that this feedback will serve as an encouragement to all of our staff as we strive to continuously improve the quality of our services.Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope your next visit will be as pleasant as the previous one.

A potentially good place but unfortunately let down by age, lack of maintenance and atrocious service.

Initially I thought that these apartments were quite good. They are very spacious and well located but then I started to see where they had not been maintained. On top of a LOT of wear and tear we then found a major mould problem above the dining room table. Then went to put some stuff in the bin and found a major maggot infestation. Blinds were tattered. The view out the kitchen window was some rusting old satellite dish. The basin in the bathroom was loose. Drain pipes were rusted through making it impossible to leave the apartment when it was raining without getting soaked. (see photos). Problems started at check in. Demanded an extra payment despite everything having been paid in full. Tried to claim it was a booking on Expedia which they hadn’t received payment from. Had to get the travel agent American Express involved to reverse it. They refused to record my Accor membership against the booking, despite the fact that I wasn’t expecting any points as it was an external booking. Definitely not the standard that I would expect from an Accor property.Probably should have read the other reviews before booking as it would seem this experience is quite common. Tim Hardidge, General Manager at The Sebel Twin Waters, responded to this review Hi Philip,I was very sorry to read of your disappointment with your stay. Our aim at Sebel Twin Waters is to exceed the expectations of all of the guest that stay at our resort however I can see that we have fallen short in this instance. Please accept my sincere apologies and I hope that you consider staying with us once again when you next visit the Sunshine Coast so we can show you exactly how great a stay with us can be.Kind Regards
