  Historic hotel well located near Darling harbour, great for couples, worth trying!

  Stayed at this hotel while attending a concert close by, it is in a good location if you want to visit Darling Harbour, the Star casino and Pyrmont. The light rail is 5 minutes' walk and there are plenty of cafes and eateries nearby. The hotel itself is very good, quite compact and they have used the space well. We found the room stylish (but a little on the small size), the bed was comfortable. and the bathroom/shower was nice and roomy. We had double glazing on our window, so the room was fairly quiet. The room was clean and seemed well maintained when we arrived. Loved the free snacks and drinks provided, sort of like a free mini bar. (Why aren't other hotels doing this?) This hotel has a nice welcoming feel to it when you walk in from the street, the staff were respectful and friendly. We had coffee, dinner and breakfast at 'Percy's' which was good, loved the tapas, the service was a little up and down but OK. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at this historic hotel, pricewise it is fairly reasonable.

  Amaizing and romantic vibe!

  We stayed at Woolstore over the long weekend and I must say it was flawless from every aspect! The hotel is very cousy and viby. It has fantastic location in the middle of everything and yet hidden away at the heart of Pyrmont, making it ideal for Darling Harbour, Fish Markets, Pyrmont Pubs and Star City and Lyric Theatre. We visited all abovementioned locations in our three day staycation and had a great time! The service at the hotel and the restaurant was exceptional, from complementary cup of coffee at checkin, while waiting for our room, individual service at the bar in the evening, till the easy checkout. Spanish restaurant was great for lunch also with nice atmosphere and great food. Same can be stated about breakfast, there are not a lot of options but the food was very nicely presented and just the right amount to have energy throughout the day. Overall, it is not quite a Sofitel, but the experience was very good, only different! So if you are after a botique experience with almost the same location as the Sofitel, it is highly recommended!

  Modern, rustic, real and great service

  This is the second time that I have stayed at the Hotel Woolstore 1888 (1888), and both times have been very enjoyable. The attention of all staff (Kitchen, Wait-staff and Front Desk) each time has been of a high standard. I have been fortunate to have travelled through parts of Africa, Pacific Nations, Australia and recently a road trip through Japan. The service that I have received from 1888 has easily matched service that I have encountered elsewhere. What I especially like is the blending of history with modern facilities. It certainly showcases modern Australia's relatively short history (since European settlement), which I admire and cherish as someone who equally embraces First Nation peoples. Keep up the great service.

  Not good. Avoid this hotel

  Nice location. Rooms are OK.However, I can’t see how this is really a 5 star hotel, or why Accor are affiliated with it.Rude staff, especially in the bar, where I was lectured about the cost of drinks, by a scruffy individual wearing an overcoat and a pair of Bose style headphones. Truly bizzare.Initially, the bar staff simply said that they were closed, despite several people sitting in the bar drinking. This was at 2pm!Reception staff disinterested when I arrived, and left me waiting with no acknowledgment while she fi ish Ed a chat in the phone.We definitely will not stay here again.   Lovely hotel, would highly recommend

  The hotel (once we found it!) was lovely. The rooms were an ok size, clean and tidy. We heard no noise during our stay so assume the rooms are really well insulated! Although it would be nice to be able to open a window. The bed was very comfy and the rooms were cleaned every day, with the option to change your towels. Staff were all very friendly (there's always someone on reception to help). Breakfast was very nice, although was a little bit on the small side! The location is also great, it's a bit of a walk to the centre or to circular quay, but it's easily accessible and there's transport options nearby.
