Location

The hotel is just a short stroll from the Town Hall, Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre and ANZAC War Memorial. Bondi Beach is approximately 6.6 km from the hotel and Sydney Airport is only 9 km away.

The hotel welcomes guests in an 18-storey building with a lift and 159 rooms. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. A living area, a kitchen and a bathroom also provide plenty of comfort and convenience.     The location is excellent and with parking , extra change, 50m away it is great access to the centre of the city. markets nearby as is Darling Harbour, restaurants, pubs , Starbucks across the road etc.Balcony offers views and even though in a central location noise is minimal. Reception is very efficient and friendly.We had two rooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen with a washer dryer as well. TV was standard.Only negative is the place is a bit tired and needs a good refresh. balconies could use a pressure wash to remove dirt.Not up to Melbourne or even Canberra standard on this area.     Great base to explore Sydney bondi manly and the ue mountains

    After reading the reviews for this hotel we had a low expectation, however we were pleasantly surprised we stayed on the 11 floor ,room was clean spacious and even had a fridge ,kettle and microwave. Bathroom had shower gel ,shampoo and conditioner another bonus when your travelling Reception staff were friendly and always willing to help with directions and taxis.The hotel is in the heart of China Town you can hop on the tram/train to circular Quay for the opera house and ferry's to manly etc ..which worked out at 52p its an easy tap on tap off wirh your debit card.There was a lovely pub called the palace we used for a drink and 7/11 and easy mart shops at hand.Also close to Darling harbour for lovely resturants just hop of at QVB station.     Clean with very comfy bed, but way too noisy.

    The location of this hotel is perfect for a stay in Sydney. It is right on George Street with direct access to a light rail stop. As the area is now pedestrianised with only light rail access there was no traffic noise - a bonus for Central Sydney!The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in, and other than stains on the couch (I was upgraded to a 1 bedroom) the space was very clean. However, even though I was up on the 17th floor there was a very loud constant noise. I'm not sure if it was the extractor fans from the surrounding restaurants (the hotel is next to Chinatown) or air conditioning units on the surrounding buildings, but it was extremely loud and kept me awake through earplugs! For this reason alone I wouldnt stay again. There was also a strong smell of garlic the moment I stepped out of the lift, again maybe due to surrounding restaurants. My room was on the southern side, rooms on the opposite side may be better.     HEART OF CHINATOWN

    We stayed overnight prior to a cruise, in a room that included a separate bedroom, kitchenette and small laundry. The room was spacious and overall well presented.The Hotel is positioned right next to Chinatown, an easy walk to the Capitol Theatre and close to the light rail system for easy access & city sightseeing. The Lobby can be accessed from two streets which did seem to confuse our taxi driver even though the hotel does give clear directions if you're arriving by car.Compared to other inner-city Sydney Hotels, this accommodation is more reasonably priced, so although a little on the tired side, it is still good value for money.A quick shout out to the reception staff member who suggested we double check which dock our cruise ship was leaving from when we asked him to order a taxi for us...almost ended up at Circular Quay instead of White Bay!!     Would not recommend mantra Syd central to anyone

    I Would not recommend this hotel to anyone, dirty and definitely not cleaned properly after servicing, beds were exactly how we left them daily even after being made, there was sauce spilt on the kitchen draws on arrival and was still there 10 days latter on departure. the staff at night were so unhelpful and you were made to feel like a inconvenience every time you had to ask about something. The day we arrived we got to the hotel at 8pm got to the room and there was only one bed so went to reception and asked where the rest of the beds were we got told they didn’t know why there was only 1 and a pull out bed would be brought up, 11pm finally a bed turns up by this point I’d just gone to sleep on the couch. Next day we asked for blankets to go in the roll out bed what was supplied was old, dirty and ripped just gross. Towels in the bathroom were dirty and stained. All and all I won’t be staying here again and would not recommend it to anyone else either.
