    Awful

If you are booking via Booking.com do not rely on the pictures on their site for this hotel. We thought from the pictures on the site that the hotel was on the wharf as building shown had semi circular balconies overlooking the wharf. But the hotel is actually situated on a back street overlooking other buildings all quite run down. On arrival the door was locked and we were unable to gain access. Other residents arrived a finally advised we needed a key code for a key pad we couldn’t see as it was covered by a hand written note taped to the wall for another guest. We had not received any communication regarding access to the hotel, due to Booking.com having sold our booking to Expedia without us being made aware, and them not having our contact details. During the time we were waiting to gain access, a rat ran across the road directly in front of the hotel several times. Finally, on entering the hotel and our room we discovered it to be extremely dated and run down. Nothing like any of the rooms shown on Booking.com which were all bright and modern. The shower area was dirty with hair on the tiles and a thick layer of dust on the extractor vent and heater cable. The wall under the sink area was half painted, paint chipped off of the wood work. A brown substance was on the packaged soap and the shower curtain was dirty. Also the toilet seat had plastic peeling off of it which was obviously unhygienic. All the bedroom furniture was dated and when opening the drawers they were dirty with a black residue and dust in the corners of every drawer. The bedside cabinet had a sticky residue on the top and the bedside lamps were covered in dust. The ceiling fan was so noisy on the first setting and wobbly so unsafe to use.The glass door to the balcony was thick with dust and on opening the balcony, table and chairs covered in garden residue. We took pictures of all of this and fed back to Booking.com but to-date have not received their reply.

We stayed at the Mariners Court Hotel on the 27th March 26. We booked 3 rooms for our family for 1 night before going on a cruise. It was handy for the cruise termanal and within walking distance to cafe's and restaurants. The rooms were clean and comfortable one was a little dated but it was due for a refresh. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast the next morning was excellent. We found the staff very pleasant and helpful and we would difinitely stay here again.

Great hotel run by a great hotelier!

Richard is fantastic! Parking is offered which is a real gem in Sydney, including for a high- campervan! The room was actually an apartment with lounge, kitchenette, bathroom and a super comfy bed. We would absolutely stay here again if we were in the area! A decent walk to the centre of Sydney, but it’s a nice one and the price difference more than makes sense - and the secure, underground parking!

Comfortable hotel in the heart of Sydney

    rating31 Mar 2026

The hotel is in the prime location, easy walking distance to all of Sydney's attractions. We parked our car in the secure parking garage for only $25 per day, and just walked everywhere, only 15 mins to the Opera house, the harbour bridge, shops and the beautiful botanical gardens overlooking the harbour. There are some great restaurants and bars for meals 5 mins walk away and the whole area is so beautiful right just next to Fingers Wharf. We were able to walk to the Art Gallery of NSW and explore the area. Our room was really nice, spacious and was recently renovated. In fact the whole hotel has been or is in the process of being renovated. New flooring and beautiful modern rooms and bathroom, The staff at this hotel are so lovely and will go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. The hotel amenities are fabulous with a big games, relaxation room to chill out with a coffee machine, and a delicious complementarity breakfast each morning. The Woolloomooloo area is really beautiful and as a mum travelling alone with a young daughter, this hotel gave us safety and comfort and we will definitely be back.

    A great night stay

    rating10 Mar 2026

This is really one of Sydney's best kept secrets! We booked the family room for 4 as it was the only room available (still cheaper than a city room for 2). It was neat and tidy and had a balcony. The lady who took my booking was friendly and helpful and we were warmly greeted upon our arrival by a lovely gentleman. Parking was $20 per night which was paid for over the phone at the time of reservation. You can walk to The Rocks in just over 30 mins through the Botanical Gardens or around the water via the Opera House and Circular Quay. We enjoyed the breakfast that was included in the price. Would definitely stay here again!
