  We had just a flying stay, one Sunday night. The rate was good and we were pleased to be able to get early check in. We did not expect it but it was offered when we planned to leave our luggage so we accepted. The room was tiny, really just a bed, only one chair so if two people wanted to say eat in the room, one person would have to sit on the bed. Check in staff were friendly, we were paying with a gift card which from previous experience is always tricky and it started well (more on that in a minute) seemed to be no issue so all good. There is no parking but a parking station is just a few steps away with hotel reduced rates. Bathroom is fine (please supply a toilet brush!) and hotel was quiet. We did have an inner room which seem to look onto some sort of shaft - no view but did have natural light. Breakfast was disappointing. I eat a lot of hotel buffets and this was on the lower end. No bircher muesli, very basic cold cuts, filter coffee and you had to pay extra for cappuccinos etc- not even one of those serve yourself cappuccino machines. It was really just the bare basics of a hotel buffet, one or two varieties of everything and nothing special of anything. Checkout seemed smooth, paying with the giftcard however received a call about 10 minutes later to say that the person who checked me out hadn't charged me properly, could I return to fix it. No, I couldn't as I was on the way to a medical appointment, the reason for my hotel stay. I promised I would check in when I returned home as she needed the number of the giftcard and it didn't show up in the app in my phone. However, a couple of hours later, with a bit of toing and froing, a managed to find it and sent it to her, all sorted. She was very apologetic but I wish hotel chains would fix this! I often pay with gift cards as I regularly ask for these for gifts and they always have trouble. Overall, worth staying here for its location and centrality, however, make sure the price is worth it for you.

  Rydges AS goes the extra mile-plus great restaurant

  Rydges Australian Square is located in a premier location. It was so easy to get to anywhere from here. The team at the hotel is exceptional. They provide the highest level of service in all areas of the hotel They also provided help and dinner options. One night we dined in their restaurant. The food and service get the highest rating! We highly recommend. The room was very comfortable and other than needing a little more drawers for your clothes on a longer stay, the Premium room we stayed in was extremely nice. It has nice amenities like a safe, mini fridge, expresso maker and tea kettle. All very helpful. The team is trained very well, they are organized and make you feel like you are the most important person in the hotel. They are highly productive and efficient too. They hotel was always busy. The breakfast and team was also exceptional, so if you eat breakfast I would suggest adding that to your booking. Thanks to the great team and the fabulous hotel, we had an amazing stay. Highly recommend and give them the highest score

  Great short stay -Rydges Australia Square Sydney

  We had a short stay at Rydges Australia Square in Sydney and the location was more than central & convenient. We could walk to Circular Quay & other places to easily get around in our short time. No Ubers needed!The staff were helpful & provided great service. I left some things behind in the room & a kind staff member, Gillian, posted them back to me in Perth. That was very thoughtful & I was surprised that they cared about little things like that, meant a lot to me.It was immaculately clean, with a great breakfast included.

  A well located hotel, close to amenities and tram stops. Very clean hotel, excellent buffet breakfast and delightful staff. Nothing too much trouble for all - you always felt they were walking the extra mile for you.
