The hotel is superbly situated around the corner from the Central Railway Station, close to both the city and the fashionable shops and restaurants of Surry Hills and Paddington's Oxford Street. The hotel has 6 junior suites, 4 suites, 242 single rooms and 247 double rooms, which are located on 11 storeys and are reachable by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Services such as a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a supermarket, are great for shopping or just browsing. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air.     Worst Rydges stay in 20 years

    My worst experience at a Rydges hotel in my 20+ years staying with them. The "DELUXE" room was FILTHY see the photos, I had to clean up the last guests crinkle cut chips off the floor and there was what appeared to be "snot" on the bedside wall. The walls of the room are bashed up like some 2 star motel see the photos absolutely unacceptable. The towels were literally thread bare i could see through it! Shower water pressure was just non existent. DARK BLACK HAIR left from the previous guest all over the bathroom (I am bald) The buffet breakfast was a disgrace everything was cold im glad i am an EVT Gold member (Rydges Priority) and only paid $5 each for it because thats all it was worth, I overheard someone receiving a refund after complaining about the poor quaility of the food. I haven't even mentioned several other flaws with this place as I could rant forever. NEVER again goodbye Rydges.     Great location close to central train station to head out to Olympic Park for Concerts. Close to awesome cafes. Staff are great, very accommodating and friendly.     Stayed here for 10 nights which was a shame as it is not the best, certainly poor value for money. Booked months before and requested a high floor room, but got one on only the 3rd floor! Bed and pillows comfortable but woken early in the morning with maids banging housekeeping doors. Maid also came in once when I had do not disturb on the door. Shower attached to ceiling, does not come off like those in Rydges at Brisbane and Melbourne. WiFi kept going off. 15-30 mins walk to most things but did not mind that.     Return visit to Rydges Central

    We are regular guests at Rydges Central. We stayed here before and after our January cruise. We find it very convenient as our coach from the south coast of NSW stops at the bus terminal at Central Station, and it is a convient short walk to the Hotel. As always, we found the rooms clean and tidy although the body wash container was empty, which was an inconvenience. Luckily, we were able to use the soap provided on the vanity. We dined in the on-site dining room for breakfast, which was included in our room rate, and also for our evening meal. All in all, we had an enjoyable stay on both occasions. We found the reception staff to be friendly and helpful.     Very poorly run.

    2/3 star at best but with lifts.Inconsistent service throughout by poorly trained but yet nice staff.Poor sleep due to single glazed windows in a noisy environment.Location is on the wrong side of the station resulting in lots of walking in a downtrodden area.Glad to be gone.
