Location

The hotel is centrally located within the World Square precinct in Sydney central business district. This great location provides guests with easy access to Sydney's major tourist attractions. The hotel enjoys an excellent location for another reason: World Square monorail station is on its doorstep. From there it is just 3 stops to Darling Harbour, the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, as well as the shopping, dining and entertainment offers available at Cockle Bay Wharf. Central, Town Hall and Museum stations are also within a few minutes walk from the hotel. It is surrounded by taxi ranks and numerous bus stops, from where Fox Studios, Sydney Harbour and a bounty of beaches can be reached. It is about 20 minutes from Sydney Airport.

Facility

The hotel has 452 rooms, which are located on 10 storeys and are reachable by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. A cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service are available. Wireless internet access in public areas (for a fee) allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities.     Have stayed twice here and it’s a slightly older hotel but it’s in an excellent location, near to China Town and a tram line, World Square shops with Supermarket and most importantly a bottle shop. Also about a million restaurants and cafes. It’s so easy to get to Circular Quay on the tram for the ferries and the Rocks, Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. You can actually walk to Darling Harbour in about 15 mins so no need for transport. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom has a shower and separate bath. First time here we were BnB and the breakfast was very good. If you can get a good rate I would recommend this hotel.     Had a wonderful stay at Rydges. Cleanliness is outstanding. Toiletries are really good quality and smell lovely. Standard Sydney prices for food and drink. Special offers are available at certain times.Two critiques of this hotel is late checkout prices. We asked two days ago and were told there was no availability for a late checkout. We asked again yesterday and were told we could have a late checkout at $30 per hour. Considering we needed 5 hours that would have cost $150 which is extortionate! We checked in 5 hours early and it only cost $50.Only other small critique is that a mirror on the wall by the desk and chair would have been handy for drying hair and make up as I have mobility issues and had to stand.     I’m not paying hundreds of dollars a night to be guilted at check in to have my room cleaned and my bed made each morning. Seriously? This is the Rydes and not some budget motel. Hell a budget will do that. Not sure I’ll be back.That being said decent size rooms, comfortable bed, well located. Though the floor numbers are a bit of a lie.     Centrally located with coles in basement

    A good enough property for family with twin bed for our family. My kid enjoyed the world square during evenings and we did our late night essentials in coles at bottom . It was a memorable vacation and stay , still fresh in memory . Atmosphere was a vibe.Service by the staff is also pleasant and no complaints. Breakfast was good in usual Australian standards but they do charge for coffee separately.Room was not big but enough for our family. Not to forgot, the rooms are neat as expected for the standard .Multiple access ways to roads at front and back was so helpful.     Rydges World Square is conveniently located at the southern 'Chinatown' end of the CBD. Staff were welcoming and polite and check-in was efficient and easy. The room itself was spacious and well equipped although our room lacked any real view which wasn't a real problem as we are regular visitors to Sydney and were only their for one night. The room was clean and quiet. Ultimately it proved to be very good value by Sydney standards. Parking is the reliably expensive add-on that we have come to expect ($70.00 / night) but it does have an EV charging station which was really useful although there is no internet connection in the parking garage so I had to go back up to the lobby to activate the charger.
