Terrible lunch experience at Tilda’s .

    rating22 May 2026

Experience was very disappointing. Ordered a glass of wine and when partner questioned pour size which appeared small the waitress argued and stated it was 125ml and she was happy to measure it. Quite embarrassing to say the least. A standard pour in the industry is 150ml so Sofitel is stingy if 125ml is what they pour. The lunch was terrible and I had to send the steak back as it was so tough. The experience was topped of by being rushed out and treated rudely by the waitress who couldn’t get us out quick enough. Terrible experience

    Awful Service

    rating18 May 2026

Flew over from North America and arrived around 9:30 AM prior to a 2 PM business meeting next door in the CBD.Was told they were rushing my room at 9:30 AM. Room was ready by 10:30 but they made me wait more than 2 hours for a "final inspection".I spoke with three different staff members at the front of the hotel to see if anything could be done, but all they told me was that they couldn't guarantee anything. I've been better treated and looked after by the staff at Microtel than I have here. Very frustrating experience for what was relayed to me as a very nice hotel. Would never stay here again.

Treated like criminals, fed like afterthoughts. Worst ‘club’ experience in Sydney.

    rating16 May 2026

My partner and I stayed at the Sofitel with a club room for a two night staycation. We arrived early to drop off our bags so we could go exploring but were taken to the Club for checkin which we thought was nice but we were then instructed that whilst they would give us a coffee or tea we were not to touch any food. We could see staff instruct other staff to make sure we didn’t eat any food or else we would be charged. We were left to feel like criminals. Didn’t expect a free ride but were absolutely surveilled the entire time. This was not a comfortable first experience. Afternoon tea time - no alcohol, no hot food (unless you count scones) and just disappointment. Lots of sandwiches and cheap food.Evening canapés and drinks - only hot food was a roast and veg. Nothing else hot. The cold food was also disappointing. The start time was 5:30. We saw them turn away someone who went to get food at 5:27pm and again - in a tone that they were doing something wrong. It was a very strict start time, I feel sorry for the staff having to enforce this. The Tilda Bar- loud, took 20 mins for our first drink to arrive, staff friendly but not enough of them, bathrooms not close by.Exiting hotel - we asked valet to flag a taxi but copped a lecture on why uber was cheaper. And then belittled us when we were struggling to get pick up from the hotel. It was a really weird situation. In short, if you are after a good club room experience don’t stay here. We have done plenty of club rooms around Australia and this was the absolute worst. If you want a great club experience in Sydney try the Four Seasons. They remember your name and don’t ask you your room number every time you enter, they don’t treat you like your are a criminal or pauper, and don’t try to milk you for every cent. They fall over themselves to give you the best experience. It’s not a staff problem but a management one. Get on your game Sofitel. Sofitel Wentworth Sydney is nothing but a grand disappointment! Two Nights At Sofitel Sydney Wentworth in a suite Room with Club Lounge access

    rating11 May 2026

This was our 2nd time at the Sofitel Wentworth since its major renovation. We stayed there in June last year and were really impressed by the facilities, service and the Millesime Club Lounge.I was attending a conference and decided to book a room. It was the week end after we had stayed for 3 nights at the Sofitel Brisbane Central again in a suite room and, what a contrast in amenities , service and staffing and attention to detail at the Softitel Wentworth. I would definitely say that it is what you expect and more of a sofitel hotel. My review of the Sofitel Brisbane was uploaded to Trip Advisor on the 12th May and it was a dismal experience. We were directed to level 5 to the lounge for check in : We were warmly greeted and checked in by Niroshi who explained all of the benefits and services to us. We were amazed by the suite room space , amenities and furnishings which were very tasteful in subdued colours, and the room was quiet at the end of the 15th floor. The only noise was the construction outside on the street starting at 7 am even on Saturday morning. We were well looked after by Yuvraj who was polite, attentive and friendly while we were in the lounge for evening canapes and drinks on both nights. Supraja and Krystal were also excellent waiting staff. Souk who was at the carvery was interesting to chat with. Niroshi checked in on us through out our stay on several occasions. What is outstanding at the Sofitel Wentworth is the spread of food and drink at afternoon tea time and the hot and cold canapes and extensive drinks and cocktail list for evening drinks. The gourmet A la Carte breakfast is also very special with excellent fresh produce which is obvious. The one disappointment was the Waffles which I am sure were reheated soggy super market packet waffles which were almost rancid !. Best to not offer them rather than let your reputation suffer. The coffee was excellent and barista made . But most remarkable is the level of staffing for the lounge which is in stark contrast to Sofitel Brisbane. The people who served with a smile made it a memorable stay. The overall experience was excellent and the hotel is highly recommended. Lauren Job, Guest Services / Front Office at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, responded to this review Bonjour Valued Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review of your stay with us at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, and for choosing to return after your previous visit. We’re truly pleased to hear you enjoyed your suite, the comfort and design of the room, and especially your experience in the Millésime Club Lounge. It’s also very rewarding to know that Niroshi, Yuvraj, Supraja and Krystal helped make your stay feel welcoming and memorable. We will make sure your kind words are shared with them directly. We are glad the lounge offerings, breakfast, and barista coffee stood out for you. At the same time, we are very sorry about the early morning construction noise you experienced. While this is outside our control, we do understand how it can affect rest, and we appreciate your patience.Thank you also for your honest feedback about the waffles. That’s not the impression we want to leave, and we are already shared your comments with our culinary team to review carefully.Your feedback means a lot to us, especially coming from a returning guest. We are grateful for your recommendation and hope we’ll have the chance to welcome you back and provide an even more consistent experience next time.Best regards,Alley PreranaGuest Relations & Club Millésime Luxury ManagerSofitel Sydney Wentworth

    Excellent service from concierge Charles

    rating30 Apr 2026

The Sofitel is a beautiful central hotel but what really made my stay so special was the Concierge/Porter Charles. He went above and beyond to help me find a car park in Sydney and went the extra mile to do some research and escort me. Charles (and Josh) demonstrated extraordinary service which is not often found in the service industry. I laud them. Thank you
