  I stayed here for 4 nights while visiting Sydney. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The bathroom appears recently renovated, and I had a large walk in shower. The downside was that the main bedroom looked a bit shabby because it really needs a new coat of paint and the floor was concrete, which I think was a design choice, but feels a little cold and institutional. Also, the bedside table was very low and inconvenient to store things on. The location was excellent. You can easily walk or catch public transportation to the tourist areas. I would stay here again and recommend this hotel to all.

  Cabinet on top of the coffee bar that serve no purpose.

  Good location, staffs are friendly. The down fall of this hotel is the coffee bar, there’s a cabinet on top that I keep getting my head knocked on it. There’s a sign, but when in the mids of making coffee, won’t realize there’s a cabinet there that serve no purpose to have the cabinet on top.

  Wasn’t really expecting too much as was part of travel agent package but it was a great place to stop. Really friendly reception desk and great location. 5 minute walking distance to Central Station, 2 minute walk to Haymarket tram station, 5 minute walk to Paddy’s market and more or less a straight line 10 minute walk to Darling harbour. We got the tram from Haymarket to Circular quay, which takes around 10-15 minutes and takes you more or less to the Opera house. The hotel itself was kept clean and on a side street so really quiet and not many rooms. If we come again to Sydney, I would definitely stop here. Tip, get your cheap holiday souvenirs from Paddy’s as a fraction of price in the main shops, also good food hall upstairs there

  Cumberland Charter Yachts - 10 years + of staying at Valentine on George

  Cumberland Charter Yachts staff have stayed here for over 10 years every year for the Sydney Boat Show. The staff are very friendly, the rooms are cleaned and beds turned every day, very comfortable and perfectly central. Highly recommended, we have already requested our rooms for next year again.

  We chose this hotel due to its proximity to Central Station (less than 10 min easy walk). Small hotel with good security and reasonable prices for Sydney. Rooms are well appointed. Beds are low and quite firm. Lighting in bathroom a little dim for make up application. Occasional overnight noise from street. Reception staff pleasant.
