    Staff and beds fab but Hotel rooms etc very dated

    Just spent two nights at the Best Western Hobart - nothing but compliments for the staff and service provided but the hotel itself, apart from the showers which very fabulous, is very dated and would benefit from a complete make over.

    Hotel is an easy walk from the main shopping area and the room was spacious. A problem with the room's phone was dealt with quickly and cheerfully (it was emitting a loud 'chirp'). Carparking on site is paid for, but not too expensive compared to some others in Tasmania. However, there seemed to be little or no sound-proofing with the room next door - hearing the man in there cough up his lungs and have a pee was not pleasant.

    Nice Hotel A Few Minutes Walk from CBD

    We had made a booking through booking.com but they cancelled our booking 48hrs before. Thankfully BW found us a room at the hotel. I feel this is why we had no balcony which was disappointing. The window didn’t open very far so we felt a bit claustrophobic. The air conditioner came in handy. Parking costs extra, so be prepared for that added expense. We took advantage of the daily happy hour at the hotel bar and had one or two meals there. Breakfast was $30pp which we felt was a bit expensive.

    Highly recommended, close to main area of the City. The room was awesome and had a great view over the city. The restaurant at this BW serves awesome food and the staff are very efficient. Noise level in our room on the top floor was negligible.

    We had a very comfortable 2 night stay. The beds were great.. warmth was appreciated. Great selection buffet breakfast. Friendly helpful reception.
