Location

The hotel is located on the banks of the Tamar River, close to the boarding area for Tamar River Cruises. Mount George Conservation Park is also nearby, as well as the Low Head Historic Precinct and Pipers Brook Winery. Guests can explore the many speciality shops in the area.     Great, except for the reception door

    The only downside of the hotel accommodation is the entry door near reception. This door is self closing but it is not a soft close. In fact in our room at the front of the hotel we could feel the front wall shudder every time it closed. This door slammed regularly until about 10pm and then again from around 7.30am. It might not sound like something to be bothered by but after slam number 20 or so it really gets to you. We did raise the issue with the staff member who checked us in and she did agree that it was loud. Let’s hope the closing arm gets adjusted. Apart from that the staff were very welcoming, the room was comfortable and clean and the location ideal to walk the foreshore or to the shops.

    Stayed here for one night on our Tassie trip, George Town itself has limited accommodation but is well worth the visit, great history and scenery, it was very windy when we were there which limited our sight seeing but the museums were definitely worst visiting. The Comfort Inn met our needs, lovely spacious and clean room. Comfortable bed and good shower, what more is need. No breakfast sadly but there is a great bakery in town, the cafe was closed the day we were there!

    Stayed for two nights. The rooms are small holiday style bungalows. Each has its own parking space. Lovely view to the front of the River Tamar. Kettle/cuttlery/plates in the room. WiFi was good. The actual hotel has a public bar and restaurant. The restaurant is a MUST visit. The food was lovely and plentiful and very reasonable prices. Staff were friendly and informative. The hotel is situated just off the Main Street and very close to shops and restaurants, and alongside the waterfront. Main supermarket is just a two minute walk away. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends and family.

    Lovely hotel with great views over harbour, elegant dining room with outside covered in deck.Attended for lunch and were the first customers. Two of us had the roast pork (no crackling) which was tough and vegetables warm to cold. One had rissoles which were nice, hot mash and cold vegetables.One of us had the seared scollops with prawns on rice with garlic cream sauce. What was served was prawns with a few scollops.Service prompt however food a lot to be desired

    A dinner out with family, we waited 50 minutes for food, was served flat sparkling wine and the “handmade ravioli” was 100% from the grocery store- very disappointing for $24. Be honest on your menu!
