    Just like staying in a country house in England. The service was incredible you could not want anything more.We had a cheese board in the lounge everything you could possibly want.We will certainly be back for a longer stay next time.Forgot to mention the French toast for breakfast it was excellent

    We are in the restaurant. Wonderful French food very nicely presented and using local Tasmanian ingredients. It’s a limited menu which is a nice way of doing it, it makes sure that you get the freshest dishes. Very friendly staff - we were welcomed with a tour of the wine cellar and then at the end the manager came out to chat to us. The location is stunning, in what is probably the oldest house in the village, which has been nicely renovated. It’s quite a new business and one which deserves support!

    Elegant, Welcoming Historic House with Extraordinary French In-House Dining

    We visited Strahan for one night as a group of five friends celebrating a special birthday. We stayed at Franklin Manor and dined at Charlotte's, as well as taking a Gordon River cruise.Franklin Manor was a delightful, hospitable, warm and charming restored historic house with comfortable rooms, great service, and several lovely common areas.It is located in a quiet area, a short walk to the wharf and right near a scenic walk. The surrounding gardens of the manor are filled with mature rhododendrons and other lovely trees. The service there was extremely welcoming and helpful and the stately home was clean and well equipped, right down to the house-made welcome madeleines in our room. It was very reasonably priced for the amenities, we all thought.The biggest surprise, and absolute revelation, was the extraordinary French cuisine served by Charlotte's Restaurant in-house, and the breakfast prepared by the same team. The French chef, Mathieu, and his service team, led by François, were fantastic! The food was delicious (-we chose only the 3-course menu, but a 5-course option was also available-) and we would highly recommend Charlotte's to anyone traveling through Strahan as a first class dining experience, whether you are staying at Franklin Manor or elsewhere.

    We enjoyed a superb three-night stay at Franklin Manor. This boutique hotel is the beautifully restored and extended former harbour master’s house. Our room was quite spacious and very comfortable. The manor also has lovely lounge areas downstairs. Charlotte’s restaurant is a huge bonus. The breakfast was delicious, and we also ate dinner at Charlottes one night, which was an amazing dining experience not to be missed. The staff were all very professional and friendly, and we would like to thank Renato, Emma, Francois and the chef (we can’t remember his name). We could not recommend Franklin Manor more highly as a place to stay and to dine.
