Another lovely stay at Stewarts Bay. Great meals and great service in the restuarant. The cabin was in a wonderful location with lovely views, weather was great but cold. Beautiful trees all around! The only thing I really missed were my ugg boots - the cabins are elevated and don't seem to have insulation under the floorboards. Hint - take thick socks or ugg boots!

    Tranquility at Stewarts Bay

    rating03 Jun 2026

For some years now we have spent a few days at Stewarts Bay lodge in May/June.We go on walks, cosy up in the cabin, visit treasured spots. We take wet weather gear, and enjoy whatever happens: the rain, the sunshine, the calm and the wild that all come on the Tasman Peninsula. We especially love the quiet surrounds. The views out to the bush and the sea are a joy. The staff are always welcoming and helpful... from that first phone call to make a booking. It is one of my very favourite places to stay in Tasmania. Ashlee Rodgers, Owner at Stewarts Bay Lodge, responded to this review Thank you so much, Rachel058, for your beautiful and heartfelt review. It’s truly lovely to hear that your visits to Stewarts Bay Lodge have become such a cherished tradition. We’re so glad you continue to enjoy the peaceful surroundings, the ever-changing Tasman Peninsula weather, and those special moments spent walking, relaxing in the cabins, and taking in the bush and sea views.Your kind words about our team — from the first booking call through to your stay — mean a great deal, and we’ll be sure to share your feedback with everyone. We feel very fortunate to be part of your favourite Tasmanian getaways, and we very much look forward to welcoming you back again soon.Kind regards,Management

    Convenient Location

    rating27 May 2026

This was a surprisingly nice getaway stay during our visit to Port Arthur. Luckily we arrived before the front office closed so we could talk to a live person and get the full briefing on the property amenities and local area. Very helpful. We also grabbed a few oldies DVDs from the convenient library inside the office since each cabin had a DVD player. The location was ideal for us as it was just a short drive to the Port Arthur Historic Park, Tasman NP, and right next door to the Stewart Bay State Reserve. It was quiet and peaceful with walking trails that had wonderful views of the bay, sunrise and sometimes we would come across a wallaby or two. Lastly one didn't need to go far for good food since Gabriel's By The Bay was located onsite and all within minutes walk from our cabin. Our cabin was comfortable and well appointed with a full kitchen, large living room, washer/dryer and a patio out in the back. Lots of room to spread out. The only nit pick was parking for our cabin which was a bit tight since it was angled off the one lane road.Like most other places in Tasmania we had to make sure all used dishes were washed, dried and put away before we left. However here we also had to take out all of our trash and place in the bins next to our parking spot.At checkout we drove back to the front office to drop off our keys. An after hours drop box was also available if needed.Highly recommended for anyone visiting this part of Tasmania. Ashlee Rodgers, Owner at Stewarts Bay Lodge, responded to this review Thank you so much, TheLeongOhana, for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay and made the most of the location — from visiting Port Arthur Historic Site and Tasman National Park to exploring the nearby Stewart Bay State Reserve. It’s wonderful that you experienced the walking trails, wildlife, and peaceful bay views; it really is a special part of Tasmania. We’re also pleased you found your cabin comfortable and well appointed, and that the onsite amenities, including the DVD library and the onsite restaurant On the Bay, added to your stay.We appreciate your helpful feedback regarding parking and housekeeping procedures. We appreciate your understanding on Cabins being left in a respectful manor. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we hope to welcome you back again on a future visit to this beautiful part of Tasmania.Kind regards,Management

    Good Stay

    rating16 Apr 2026

Stayed 1 night as part of round Tasmania tour. Spacious and clean room with all convenience including washer/dryer, kitchen. Restaurant has decent food with slow paced service. Tucked inside a quiet street entrance, good for a relaxing time. WiFi only in reception and restaurant only. Ashlee Rodgers, Owner at Stewarts Bay Lodge, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback, o2mpx.We’re very glad to hear you enjoyed your stay as part of your Tasmania tour — especially the spacious, clean accommodation and the convenience of the kitchen and laundry facilities within the cabins. It’s also lovely to know you appreciated the peaceful, tucked-away location for a relaxing visit. We appreciate your comments regarding the restaurant service pace, and also the WiFi connectivity. Due to our geographical location, internet coverage can at times be inconsistent. To help improve connectivity for guests, we are currently trialling WiFi pods, which are available for purchase from reception (subject to availability) for the length of your stay. We are also hopeful that future improvements to local network infrastructure and towers in the area will further enhance connectivity.Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback — it’s genuinely valuable in helping us improve. We hope to welcome you back again on a future visit to Tasmania.Kind regards,Management
