Sebel Launceston what a great place to stay, hard to beat!

    rating27 Jan 2026

Where do I begin. We felt completely at home here. From the very beginning we were greeted by a lovely fellow Avishkar, who was very attentive and wanted our stay to be a memorable one. Pity a lot of hotels cant take a leaf out of his book, an absolute professional. We dined in the restaurant the Bluestone bar and grill. Wow! we decided one of the best meals we have ever eaten, Ryan the restaurant manager/supervisor felt like an old friend, again extremely friendly wanting nothing but the best experience for us, and a big shout out to Maddie and Victoria who took great pride in working in the restaurant.I don't normally ask for staff names unless I really feel compelled to thank them personally. Our next trip to tassie from Queensland will be for a long weekend at the Sebel as were missing it already. Well done guys!

Expensive for what was on offer

    rating20 Nov 2025

Convenient to walk into the CBD. Friendly greeting when we arrived and departed. Otherwise a very lacklustre experience. Rooms are spacious but not well-furnished so not great for relaxing. Room decor is dated. Clock tower nearby chimes every 15 minutes 24/7 and, the two nights we were there, a street sweeper or leaf blower started up from approx 6:30, so bring earplugs. We had much better value for money at nicer hotels in Hobart.

    Close to town centre

Very convenient location, close and walkable to centre of town. Nice big room with mini kitchenette set up, no mini bar in room. Great shower and huge bathtub. Friendly and helpful customer service at reception at all times.
