Voyages Desert Gardens Hotel of Yulara and Uluru will not be forgotten!

    rating22 May 2026

The Voyages Desert Gardens hotel of Yulara is a very comfortable place to stay. If you happen to get a room with the view on the majestic Uluru (formerly known as the Ayers Rock) you can consider this a an additional welcome bonus. The Reception works perfectly and responds to your requests without unnecessary delays. Desert Gardens is also a very good starting point for exploring this fascinating part of Australia. Meeting indigenous people - which had been the case - is an exceptional experience as well. They indeed can be proud of their heritage, ancestors and land. All our tour guides did an excellent job (dining during sun rises and sun sets in front of Uluru and Kata Tjuta, digging for honey ants, simply unforgettable). They are true professionals. The hotel is close to a shopping center with cosy market place where one can buy souvenirs including very intriguing and highly artistic paintings (which we did of course). Our main Tour Guide Ms Laurel of Inside Australia again did an excellent selection. Voyages Desert Gardens Hotel and Uluru - Kata Tjuṯa National Park is highly recommended. Wojciech Both Uluru and the Voyages Desert

    Desert Gardens

    rating12 May 2026

Good place to rest up whilst visiting Uluru. The room (I think we were in 318) was a bit basic but comfortable and clean and we had no noise from neighbouring guests so that was ideal! Staff at check-in were polite and friendly however there was a slight mix-up with some of the extras we had booked but this was quickly resolved. We also couldn't get WIFI in our room - as soon as you stepped outside it would kick in so slightly annoying. Breakfast was always busy - plenty of choice and good quality food however, be prepared to queue quite some time for the coffee machine! It gets busy around the pool in the afternoons but the pool area is kept clean and is well maintained. The area itself has everything you need and all of the trips are very well organised. All in all, a pleasant stay and we would definitely return. Ayers Rock Resort Manager, General Manager at Desert Gardens Hotel, responded to this review Dear Catp79,Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at Desert Gardens Hotel and found the room comfortable, clean and quiet, with well organised tours and facilities. We will share your comments with our operational team to review.Kind regards,Ayers Rock Resort Team

    A Great Stay

    rating10 May 2026

Husband & I stayed 4 nights at the end of April and loved everything. Our room was large, clean and looked out onto the desert. It was very quiet, although we did hear a tiny bit of noise from the people in the room above a couple of times, and also very cool, we didn't need the aircon on at all. We did luck out with the weather though, absolutely perfect. We enjoyed 2 dinners, mainly share plates, at Mangata and thought they were good value and the staff were great. All the staff we encountered were great, very friendly and efficient. We went to a couple of the free activities, used the free laundry twice and I enjoyed a swim in the pool one afternoon, all very good. We really liked the atmosphere at Yulara and especially The Desert Gardens, such a lovely setting. It was so peaceful walking around under the shade of the beautiful trees. Also it's conveniently located just near the GoCA and a short shaded walk to the town centre. We would definitely recommend it. 2 star at best could be soooo much better needs much more staff in maintenance, restaurant and cleaning

    rating01 May 2026

I think the issue with this and the other hotels in Yulara is that you are a captive audience. Let me expand the accommodation , even our deluxe room was poor quality at best 2 star . Our big issue was on our first night, we woke upTo bug infestation , now we know it’s the outback and expected some issues but looking round the hotel no one else’s room seemed to have a carpet of dead bugs outside their room . We had an early start to Uluru so complained on our return , we did move to a slightly nicer room with an actual view upstairs and no bugs . The restaurant is disappointing and needs more staff and has a limited menu and to be honest I’m glad we only stayed 2 nights . The resort and its amenities are limited . Having given the hotel feedback we get the feeling they don’t care that people are disappointed and that the desire to see Uluru will keep the bookings coming Ayers Rock Resort Manager, General Manager at Desert Gardens Hotel, responded to this review Thank you for your review, Happy Travels Fromuk. We are sorry to read that your stay at Desert Gardens Hotel did not meet your expectations. The weather patterns impact the wildlife that we see in our desert location, and as a result we are currently experiencing an influx of insects. We regret we could solve the situation at your stay.We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and we have informed our team.Kind regardsAyers Rock Resort Team

    Nice hotel but dated washroom

    rating01 May 2026

The hotel was very nice but the bathroom was a little dated. The shower pressure was average but the a/c worked great. Very comfortable beds. The breakfast selection was limited. Staff was very helpful. Ayers Rock Resort Manager, General Manager at Desert Gardens Hotel, responded to this review Dear David,Thank you, and we are pleased you enjoyed your stay.Your comments have been noted and shared with the team.Kind regards,Ayers Rock Resort Team
