    Pleasant summer vacation with kids

    rating31 Dec 2025

We enjoyed our stay at Molenheide. Swimming pool was great fun for our kids, 2 years and 4 years. Playground was also fine. Restaurant is nothing special, normal food and sometimes slow service.

No toilets for women and girls. Terrible customer service, wanted to leave early.

    rating16 Aug 2024

We had booked to stay here for 7 nights, our longest stay in a 4 week tour of the Netherlands and Belgium. When we arrived the only women’s toilets were locked. We phoned reception and was told that myself and my young daughters would have to use the men’s. The men’s toilets, in the same block as where the closed women’s toilets are, are run down and unclean. You have to walk right past the urinals to get to the toilet cubicles and there is no sign to let the men know women will also be using it. I emailed to complain and was told that the women’s toilet would not be opened anytime soon as they had works planned. There was no work being carried out that we saw the whole time we were there. Despite my emailed raising my concerns no solutions were given, no sign was put in the men’s doors, and no apology was given. The only thing they offered was free mini golf which seemed like a lazy offer to try to placate us rather than a considered response to a very clear problem. Their responses certainly didn’t reflect the fact that they had failed to provide basic facilities for women. We decided to cut our stay short and asked for a refund for the final three days of our holiday and they just stopped replying, even when I asked for my email to be put to higher management. The customer service was shocking, once you have paid they have no interest in supporting you to have a nice holiday and for this reason I’d recommend avoiding the place. Regarding the rest of the park, the pool is pretty good, our kids aged 3,6 and 8 all enjoyed it. Unfortunately again cleanliness was an issue as the changing rooms were dirty and there was what looked like poo smeared in one of the showers by the pool and it was still there for the duration of our stay. Similarly, there was what looked like orange peel in the baby pool and it was still there two days later. The indoor play area was enjoyed by our children and they spent a lot of time in there. It was quite old looking and felt quite dirty but the kids didn’t mind that. The go karts were good but there were only two of them. There are a few arcade games but every single one of them was out of order (I’ll add pics if I can). The magicians show was really good, the magician was kid-friendly and made it fun and entertaining, and the assistants weren’t in too skimpy outfits and were as brilliant as the magician. It’s all in Flemish but we got the gist so it didn’t matter too much. Overall we were disappointed with the park, and the lack of customer service and complete lack of effort to provide basic services to people that have paid a lot of money to stay on their park completely ruined our stay and was completely below the standard that we have experienced on all other parks that we have visited therefore we would not recommend this park.

A nice getaway in the forest

    rating20 May 2024

We stayed over at Molenheide over a long May weekend. On the plus side, comfortable bungalows, with everything available (at a cost), including bed linens, kitchen pots, towels, etc. The indoor activities are great, with a fantastic swimming pool, separated into 3 areas (babies, toddlers, and children / adults), along with 4 slides of varying difficulties, a great indoor playground space including a monkeytown, bowling, mini golf, etc. All in all, a lot of different activities to keep you and the kids entertained even if the weather is not cooperating (which it wasn't for us!). There are outdoor activities like bike rentals which we didn't get to try due to the rain. On the less positive side .. It's been mentioned in other reviews, but our bungalow was not cleaned adequately when we checked in - the fridge in particular was particularly dirty. The supermarket they have at reception is also rather limited when compared to similar parks in NL (Centerparks, Landal) - good to bring your own food in particular for breakfast.

    Fantastic for families.

    rating02 Sept 2019

An easy 3-4 hour drive from Calais, no sat navy required, very easy road to follow with plenty of rest stops on the way.Located in a lovely forested area, the chalets cater for four or ten. All are spacious and fully equipped from bed linen (a little odd!) to all the pots and pans crockery and stuff you will ever need.Well located to travel almost any where you please but places such as Antwerp and Gene are easy to get to.You may not get to leave the park as facilities to entertain the kids (grandkids) are fantastic and the pool is great.Don't forget to go to the site shop early for the fresh croissants and bread.Fantastic place, we started going in the late 80's with our boys and now take the grand kids and it improves every year.P.S. There are wild Peacocks running around and a wildlife park.

Enjoying a week with our camper

    rating06 Aug 2019

Molenheide Park suprised me. I'm not a fan of taking holidays in our own country, but we just bought a new puppy and we couldn't leave the country. So we have booked 5 days with our camper on the last minute. Didn't regret it and we will be back soon.
