Do not trust the star rating.

Americas Benidorm HotelRio de JaneiroConstruction Site Disguised as a Hotel1/5 – Construction Site Disguised as a HotelThis stay was a complete misrepresentation of what was sold. The hotel was under active construction, something that was not clearly disclosed prior to booking, and the disruption fundamentally destroyed the stay. From early morning, there was constant drilling, hammering, and heavy construction noise. Dust was everywhere — in corridors, common areas, and even inside the room. The air felt dirty, and cleanliness standards were completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one advertised as 4-star.Several promised facilities were unavailable or unusable due to construction, yet the hotel continued to sell rooms at full price. This includes key amenities that were explicitly advertised at the time of booking. Paying for facilities that simply do not exist is misleading at best and dishonest at worst. The room itself was poorly maintained and visibly dirty. Worn surfaces, dust accumulation, and a general lack of hygiene made the space uncomfortable. This is not a matter of “high expectations” — it is a failure to meet basic hospitality standards. What is most unacceptable is that guests are expected to tolerate these conditions without proper warning, transparency, or fair price adjustment. Had the construction and facility closures been clearly disclosed, I would never have booked this hotel. This property is currently operating more like a construction site with beds than a functioning hotel. Until renovations are completed and full facilities are restored, this hotel should not be marketed as anything above budget accommodation.

Some benefits but would not stay here again.

Large rooms. Large bed. Breakfast was decent. Very close to the beach.Under construction. I had a renovated room. The design was nice but the execution was poor. The renovations weren’t finished. The construction was noisy, dirty and smelly. My bed had holes in the sheets. There was hair all over the bathroom. When we arrived the water was completely off so we couldn’t shower. Noisy fridge and electric panel. Some of the staff were nice enough but others were extremely rude. Would not stay here again.

Good location a few blocks from beach

The reception area in this hotel is not great - old shabby stained furniture with low ceilings. So the hotel does not make a very good first impression. We were lucky to get a newly refurbished room which was nice. But with two small lifts it sometimes took a while to get to the 11th floor! The breakfast was ok.Location is good at just a couple of blocks back from the beach. And a cheap laundry next door!

Don’t stay here if you value your nighttime sleep

    rating09 Apr 2024

We have been staying at the hotel Benidorm Palace, Copacabana for 3 days now as part of a packages trip. Unfortunately our hotel stay has been awful for so many reasons 1. We arrived early and could not check into our room despite me offering to pay. We had a 12 hour overnight flight from London so was desperate for a shower and some sleep. We waited over 4 hours before we were allocated a room. A room which is clearly in desperate need of a remodel. 2. The room was on the 6th floor but the noise from the street below was horrendous. All day and all night ( yes all night) all you could hear was traffic, lorries, buses, even hotel deliveries through out the early morning hours as well. Don’t think you will sleep through it because you won’t. It’s the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in for traffic noise and I’ve stayed in many a city hotel before. The sleep we have had is minimal and we feel extremely tired as a result. 3. The hotel is undergoing a major refurbishment. Our room just so happened to be next door to a room literally being stripped of everything. Hence all day, for three days, we have had drilling, hammering, banging and crashing. Endless machinery noises and a smell of burning. The entire hotel is affected. The floors are gritty as is the lift and even the push buttons on the lift for each floor are covered in cement dust. The smell is in the air of burning and the dust of the works being undertaken is not pleasant. We had to spend time at the roof pool to get away from the noise. It is relentless until around 6pm when the workers finish. Not at any point were we notified of this, by the travel agent or the desk at reception of the hotel. There are just odd signs in the lift advising of remedial works. If we had have been made aware we would never had stayed here and opted for another hotel. The location of the hotel is fine and the staff have been helpful even with the language barrier we have experienced
