  The view is great the front desk service was great! the Service in the restaurant was terrible it is not really good and rude since we do not speak Portuguese and it is not fair.   Inexpensive alternative to Othon Palace for one night.

  This place is old and luck maintaining a bit better. Broken water taps, no working tv, dirty furniture, messy reception area.   Extremely disappointing experience

  I stayed at Savoy Othon Hotel in Rio de Janeiro from 2 March 2025 to 10 March 2025, and unfortunately, it was the worst accommodation experience I have ever had.First, the hotel and the room looked nothing like the pictures online. We were given a room that was completely different from what we had booked. When we raised this issue, the staff assured us that they would change our room the next day, but this never happened. Instead, we were stuck with a room that had a creepy view and was far from what we expected.Communication was another major problem. The staff did not speak English at all (except Daniel from reception) making it extremely difficult to get any help or resolve our concerns. The staff at breakfast, in particular, were very rude. Even though we couldn’t understand what they were saying, their behavior made it clear that they were not friendly or welcoming.The breakfast itself was also very poor. Every single day, the food was exactly the same, with no variety. Some of the croissants and pastries were not fresh and seemed to be from the day before, making the experience even more disappointing.To make things even worse, there were bugs in the hotel, which made our stay very uncomfortable.Overall, I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. The misleading pictures, poor service, unhelpful staff, and terrible breakfast made this an awful experience. If you are looking for a comfortable and pleasant stay in Rio, I strongly suggest choosing a different hotel.   We were booked into this hotel as part of a tour for an overnight stay which included a buffet breakfast. It was adequate for an overnight stay: clean and well-situated. We were supposed to stay an additional 2 nights with most of the time being spent in the hotel. We moved to a better hotel and location for those 2 nights.
