  where are the shorts? otherwise nice hotel

  nice modern hotel with good sized rooms (for an Ibis!) and nice views. facilities shared with Novotel which is part of same building. efficient friendly check in good a/c in room. brekky served in IVIS but dinner & bar in Novotel. great position with VLT (tram) stop “Ecuador” opposite Novotel & only 5 reales a trip (show your driving licence if over 65 & it’s free, train as well - go to ticket office for free pass (only valid 3 minutes)!. however I had a big problem at IBIS - I handed two pairs of shorts (one Polo by Ralph Lauren) for laundry but when I went back to collect the receptionist couldn’t locate them. A two day enquiry established that they had been delivered to my room number in Novotel & kept by occupant. meeting with management resulted in promise to refund cost of replacements. quite acceptable. however it is now two days since I sent the receipts to the manager’s email and I haven’t received an acknowledgment yet — to be continued Isabella Santos, Atendimento ao cliente/recepção at ibis Rio Porto Atlantico, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for your kind comments about our hotel, we truly appreciate it.We're very sorry for the inconvenience you experienced with your laundry.   We stayed here during the carnival, the Hotel was clean, the breakfast was very Good and the staff was helpfull. The hotell felt secured and it was near the busstation. We did take taxi to Copacabana and it took about 30 minutes and cost about 50 real.

  We arrived late at night. The Ibis Hotel was closed. We were told we had to stay at the Novotel Porto Atlantico right next door. They knew about our reservation. We don't know why that happened, but we liked the other hotel very much. It was much alike Ibis, judging by the photos online. It was nice and clean.

  My staying was gorgeous, considering that I was supposed to stay at Ibis Porto Atlântico instead. Well, maybe at least some of the staff members should speak English to provide an even better accomodation.

  Ibis Ponrto Atlântico is closed and transfers unnoticeably the host to Novotel

  The supposed upgrade to the Novotel was full of inconvenience from the check-in to the check out, particularly the down (almost disrespectful) treatment by the desk clerk, who made ironic comments about the upgrade and made extremely difficult the booking, despite od the reservation. The service at the restaurant was deficient and the quality of the dinner was terrible, with all goods serves with urgent delay and cold, simply unbearable.
