    Broken app, 10-minute water, no manager contact, completely unacceptable service

    The restaurant ordering system is non-functional. I attempted to place an order twice through the hotel app: the first order never entered their system; the second, I was told the item was unavailable: information that was never communicated upfront. The app itself is poorly maintained, with incorrect descriptions and only partial English franslation.The front desk response is worse. Staff didn't take any accountability for the ordering failures and even only said sorry after arguing for 30mins. Even when finally I only ordered a glass of water, it took over 10 minutes to arrive. When I requested to speak with a manager, they declined to provide any contact number, and only a first name.This is not a service standard I would expect from any hotel, international or otherwise. Disorganized, unresponsive, and guest-unfriendly. Do not stay here until they fix their ordering system and retrain their front desk team.     Poor Service, Confusing Restaurant Ordering, and Outdated Room Facilities

    I had a very frustrating experience with this hotel’s restaurant and front desk service.At night, I tried to order food through the hotel app, but the app was very confusing. The information was not clear, there was no English translation, and some menu items shown in the app were apparently not actually available. I placed an order, but it did not go through the system. I tried again, and later the staff told me the item was unavailable. No one explained this clearly in advance.The front desk staff also did not take responsibility for the issue. They did not clearly acknowledge the mistake or offer a proper solution. Even something as simple as getting water took around 10 minutes. When I asked to speak with a manager, they would not provide a phone number and only gave me a name.The room facilities were also disappointing. The air conditioner was very old, and because the vent blades seemed to be broken, the airflow could only blow downward directly toward the bed/head area. This made the room uncomfortable, especially while sleeping. For a hotel of this level, basic room equipment should be properly maintained.Overall, the service felt disorganized, unprofessional, and not guest-friendly. For an international hotel, the lack of clear communication, basic support, and proper room maintenance was very disappointing. I would not recommend staying here unless the hotel improves its restaurant ordering system, staff training, and room facilities.     No internet no sleep

    I recently stayed at Square Design Hotel in Rio de Janeiro, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing.The biggest issue during my stay was the internet. Although the hotel has some Wi-Fi routers, none of them were actually connected to the internet. My iphone frequently disconnected even from the local network, making it nearly impossible to stay online. There is also a login page, but it is only in Portuguese and not translated into English, which made things even more difficult.I asked for assistance several times over the course of three nights. To their credit, the reception staff tried and even came to my room to help, but no one was able to resolve the issue. At one point, the hotel maintenance openly stated that they simply do not have internet and that guests should accept the disconnection. This was very frustrating, especially for travelers who rely on internet access.Breakfast was another weak point, with limited variety and recurring issues that were never addressed.Most importantly, the noise level was quite disruptive. There was loud music and dancing every night until around 11 PM. The windows has no insulated, so the sound comes straight into the room, making it difficult to relax or sleep.Overall, the fundamental issues—especially the lack of internet, noise, and poor facilities—made this stay far from comfortable. I would not recommend this hotel unless these problems are properly addressed.
