    Invited two friends Santino and Maria Raffa room 604 for a two weeks vacation to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil and stay at our favorite place Windsor Martinique Hotel our room 518 outstanding stay. The restaurant is excellent. The breakfast outstanding highly recommend, we were out a lot for lunch and dinner but I know from past experiences it excellent service and foods as well. The front desk persons, Marco, and Jenelle, especially the one that help us will ours tour tickets, and whole chews were friendly, Professional and well knowledgeable. They make ours day going in morning and in late evening. The bellboy, the services guys all are excellent. Sorry, I don’t remember name. Room services were excellent. Maintenance service were excellent and fast, Tv and Security Safes. The pool areas were very nice for little time we spent there. The chews persons from when we were there in May 2024 for our Anniversary were awesome. We highly recommend them all promoted to next levels. Because they were amazing then and being there at hotel this visit in Feb 2026. Meant the world to us. If I could give them promotion and a raise I would because they are the heart and soul of the Windsor Martinique Hotel In Rio De Janeiro Brazil in Copacabana.     Lacking in appeal

    This hotel is nice looking from the outside but is on a sidestreet just off Copacabana beach in a very unpleasant part of town. There are vagrants constantly in your face and the whole area surroinding the hotel has a pervading smell of refuse. It is close to the beach if that is all you are looking for but the beach is not the fairytale it is portrayed to be. It is mostly just dirty, crowded and unsafe. The rooms are small with limited storage space and no free water or tea and coffee facilities. The shower was very good but the towels are very small. The rooftop pool would be nice if you could get more than 2 people in it at one time and there is hardly anywhere to sit. The "gym" consisted of 3 pieces of equipment that had all seen better days in a shoebox sized room. Breakfast was actually quite nice but the restaurant area was so small it was often a long wait to be seated. If you just want somewhere near the beach this hotel is fine but not up to its rating for the amenities it claims due to their poor standard.     Poor Service and Rude StaffMy stay at Windsor Martinique Copacabana Hotel was very disappointing.On December 26 at around 7:00 AM, I went to reception to meet my tour guide and asked for help calling them using a local number. A male staff member at reception spoke to me in a rude and dismissive manner and refused to assist. His behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable, especially in a time-sensitive situation.The same staff member had also ignored my complaints the day before about a non-working toilet and broken room phone, which were not fixed for two days.Additionally, the room was much smaller than advertised.Overall, poor service, rude reception staff, and unresolved maintenance issues made this a very negative experience. After speaking with our staff, analyzing the situation, and confirming through the camera footage (which is why I took so long to respond), I concluded that there was a misinterpretation of what actually happened: Your guide arrived at the hotel and contacted you. While you were leaving your room, the guide went outside the hotel (probably to the newsstand, to make a phone call in a quieter environment, etc.), which is normal. When you were speaking with the receptionist and asking us to call the guide (who was hired by you, not the hotel), our reception manager tried to reassure you that there was no need, as the guide would be returning shortly. He had already contacted you and would not leave the hotel without taking you. Finally, I was unable to verify exactly what happened regarding the maintenance issues you mentioned.     Got to start of by saying that we would not book a 3 star hotel as we area bit 'snobbery' when it comes to hotel stays, we kinda like our luxury, so we book 4* plus, however we got this hotel as part of a package and had a 4 day stay in Rio.That said, here is my honest review of what i call a 'charming' hotel. - Location, absolutely perfect, less than 30 seconds walk from the Copacabana beach and plenty of restaurant's, shops around only minutes away from hotel. in fact its within walking distance of Ipanema beach too.Rooms weren't the largest, however it was comfortable and had all the amenities that we required, including a good size fridge! Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, buffet style with hot and cold selection, suffice to say it set us up for the day.Staff - Absolutely fantastic, from bell boy to Manager, they could not do enough for us, any questions were answered quickly and to our satisfaction. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Windsor Martinique and would recommend to anyone.
