    Not 5 star

    rating06 Mar 2026

I didn't have a safe in my room for my weeks stay despite asking on day one. There was no room service as the app didn't work and the phone in my room was not connected to anything. The bed was broke, wallpaper coming away from walls, flooring was damaged in multiple areas, view from my room was very disappointing, no path to the hotel so had to walk in road, bathroom sink leaked badly, bathroom door handles broken, huge crack up tiles in bath area.

    AVOID AT ALL COSTS

    rating28 Feb 2026

States recently renovated but still actually going through renovation. Foul mouldy smell throughout most of the hotel. Rude and unhelpful staff. If you do stay make sure you check what time check out is as nobody tells you until you go back to your room on the last day to be greeted by scary dogs charging at you in your room and all your stuff thrown in the foul smelling boiler room with stuff missing. I know Bulgaria is different to the UK but this would barely pass as a 3 star hotel here. The pool/spa areas were disgustingly overcrowded and far from relaxing.Real shame as we stayed there last year too before the renovation and couldn't fault it hence why going back. This year was definitely our last stay and would recommend anybody to avoid at all cost and just pay a bit extra and have a great stay elsewhere.

    Shocking!

    rating25 Feb 2026

I never normally write reviews - but this experience was truly shocking. We booked a deluxe room - as shown on the hotel website - and requested (at the time of booking) single beds for myself and my son. The room we were allocated bore no resemblance to those on the website. The room was on the top floor, under the eaves. Headroom was less than 5'6" where the (only) chair was located - not helpful when we are both over 6'. There was no balcony - despite the description on the website. The safe had to be removed and replaced (eventually) by one that worked. The phone had to be replaced (eventually) so we could communicate with reception - another challenge in itself. We did not get single beds, so father and son had to share.I, politely, complained to reception that I was not happy with the room and asked for it to show me an equivalent room on its website - it could not. I asked that we be moved to a room type in line with those on the website - it could not as "the hotel was full". I am sure this would not have been the case at the time of our booking. The hotel offered to put a second (king size!) bed in the room - it would have had to hang it from the ceiling! The room states "coffee making machine" - but after the two complimentary sachets were used, we were charged 1 Euro for replacements - by a 5* hotel?? No milk, only powdered creamer. Replacements were requested. After three hours none had arrived so we asked again at Reception and were told "go and get some from the bar" - there was none!We purchased ski passes at the hotel. Having been told, in advance, they would cost Euro 484, we were actually charged Euro 590 - as my son was charged adult prices. We tried to play pool but no-one at Reception could tell us what coins to use. We eventually found a token machine - but when we inserted the tokens, nothing happened. We went back to Reception and explained, only to be told "the pool table is broken"Previous visitors have described the hotel as "tired". I would say it is "fast asleep" - wires hanging from walls, wallcoverings scuffed and torn throughout, lighting (everywhere) very dark, I think to camouflage the poor decor.Despite the above, the worst aspect of the hotel was the attitude of the staff, especially the Reception staff - unhelpful, unco-operative, unfriendly, uninterested and unknowledgeable. The only positives were a good variety of food at breakfast and a very well equipped spa / leisure centre. Our 3* hotel last year offered better accommodation and service than we were afforded by this "5*" hotel

Staff niceness can’t overcome the bait-and-switch feel.

    rating11 Feb 2026

I chose this hotel based on its 5-star rating and prominent website claims that extensive renovations had been completed. What a disappointment. The “renovations” appear limited to a separate serviced apartments section – the actual hotel portion we stayed in remains dated and untouched, with no meaningful upgrades that justify any recent refresh. The ground-floor area near the spa has an awful, persistent sewer-like smell that was overpowering and exactly the same as when I visited years ago – clearly not addressed despite the supposed renovations. It’s unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one charging 5-star rates.Adding insult, the booking confirmation explicitly listed Bvlgari toiletries as part of the amenities/services. There were none – just basic generic ones. When asked, staff dodged the question and passed responsibility around as if it wasn’t their concern.Breakfast was acceptable (nothing special), but the coffee was genuinely terrible. The only positive was the friendly staff, who were polite and tried to help despite the issues. This place trades on a 5-star label it doesn’t earn in the hotel rooms/area we experienced. Staff niceness can’t overcome the bait-and-switch feel. I’d avoid unless you’re specifically booking the newer apartments section (and even then, verify what’s included and expect unfinished work ).

    The best ski hotel !

    rating08 Feb 2026

Amazing 5star hotel !!!! From the warm welcome, huge, warm rooms and gorgeous spa area to the most delicious dinners and breakfasts we couldn’t ask for more ! Absolutely, the best ski hotel. Free shuttle bus from 8am, outdoor pool while it’s snowing was a cherry on top. Food was well spiced and always very tasty. The real honey for breakfast, fresh pancakes, omelettes. Rooms very warm, we had to open the windows. Kids got robes for the spa. Thank you all for making this holiday so brilliant. We will be back !
