  Beautiful hotel, gorgeous spa

  Beautiful hotel, a little further out from the Gondola but the shuttle bus service is spot on. It’s a short which is actually quite nice on the legs after a full day of skiing.. Staff are super friendly, Spa is beautiful - worth going for the Spa alone! Would definitely stay here again!

  Expected More for a New Year Holiday

  We stayed at Saint Ivan Rilski in Bansko for New Year, and unfortunately the experience did not meet expectations, especially considering the high price for the holiday period.The hotel felt overpriced for what was offered. Both the pools and some of the common areas were cold, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the facilities, particularly during winter. This was one of the biggest disappointments of our stay.On a positive note, the girls at the children’s play centre were very kind and attentive, which we really appreciated. The New Year’s dinner itself was fine — decent food and well organized.Overall, the all-inclusive package is not worth the cost. For the price paid, we expected better facilities, warmer pools, and more value. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t choose this hotel again for New Year.

  Everything was wonderful – the staff was friendly and helpful, the spa was very nice, and the food was excellent. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again.

  The rooms are very spacious, and the spa facilities were excellent. We enjoyed the delicious food and the nice lounge area, perfectly situated next to the kids' playground. It was ideal for a couple of retreat days. Finally, the staff were incredibly friendly, and I would like to offer a special thanks to Banko at the front desk.

  Nice hotel but....

  Our family stayed there for a week. We had booked an apartment with a king bed and a pullout sofa. The pullout sofa was super crooked and uncomfortable and made a terrible noise at the slightest body movement, my baby girl kept waking up every time I sat down or moved in bed. Our friends stayed at a similar apartment in the same building and their pullout sofa was different and very comfortable. I guess we weren't so lucky. The pool was very dirty. We saw poop in the pool and in the jacuzzi. My son came down with an ear infection and one of us adults got another kind of infection from the pool. Our apartment faced the backside where there was a major construction going on, lots of construction noise, digging machines, workers, etc.On the positive side, the food was fabulous, delicious, fresh and lots of variety incl. local dishes like several kinds of banitsa and fresh feta cheese. The staff was also very pleasant. The hotel is in a beautiful setting and is 15-20mins away from downtown Bansko.
