Good rooms and excellent service, I would stay again and recommend it.

The rooms are clean and cosy. The air conditioning was weak and noisy, the extra bed was not comfortable. The service in the restaurant was excellent.

Bad attitude and service from the personnel, outdated hotel

    rating16 Jul 2025

I made a huge mistake staying at Hotel Vega in Sofia. If you want good service, stay ONLY with reputable international hotel chains in Bulgaria. I had to spend an unexpected night in Sofia in June 2025 and did not check this hotel in advance. It was a last-minute decision to stay there. The temperature outside was more than 30 °C on this day. The AC in the room was set to 27°C. Around 5 pm, I started boiling in my room. I can't adjust the AC temp in my room. The phone was not working, so I went to the reception desk to ask the receptionist to fix the temperature in my room. The guy started yelling at me, asking me how I dared to bother him and what he could do if the AC is central. All the rooms are hot, no night manager to fix the issue, the owner know, but it's not up to him to fix the issue. We just have to pay and boil there. The bad attitude and service in this country never seem to disappoint me.

    Very rude reception employee

    rating17 Mar 2025

I arrived at the hotel tired and just wanted to check in and get into a shower and relax. The man at the reception became extremely rude very quickly when he asked me for a tax number for an invoice for my company and I asked if we can do this at check out, cause I'm tired. He started lecturing me what I should have said or done in the beginning of our conversation, then started yelling at me when I wanted to just cut it short and finalize the check-in, then started angrily mouthing something in a language I don't know. A terrible experience, a complete opposite of welcoming, respectful and professional.

    My Winter Experience in Sofia

    rating15 Jan 2024

It was a good hotel on average. It was clean and quiet. However, the air conditioning was noisy and took too long to make the room warm enough. Finally, I got cold during my trip in Jan. The staff are so polite and able to communicate in English. It was easy to call a cab using the integrated station on the reservation table which was really convenient.

    Short Sofia stay

    rating26 Aug 2023

We were here as part of a group tour in September 2022. Check in was swift from the hotel staff and we were given a room on the second floor. As we were part of a Travel Talk Tour, some of the rooms were twins and some were triples. I was in a triple room for the one night we spent here - for three lads with suitcases, the room was a bit on the small side, but we made it work. The beds were comfortable enough, the bedding and the room were clean and the fixtures were in good condition. As well as the three beds, there was a desk, TV, wardrobe with safe and hanging space. The bathroom had a shower over the bath, large sink and vanity unit and toilet. The towels were clean and there were no issues with water pressure or temperature. The hotel wifi was good - good range and speed. We headed into one of the conference rooms for a briefing before our tour and it was a good size. There was a wedding party next door in one of the other conference rooms.Breakfast was good, with a good selection of food and drink. The staff were helpful and spoke good English. Location-wise, you've got a big supermarket next door, so if you need anything, including anything from a pharmacy like we did, then you're in luck.Overall a good short stay here - recommended.
