    Large airy rooms

This is up a hill so you will need a car and is alittle hard to find. In the true sense of the word it did not seem like a hotel more an AirBNB as it was someones home. The rooms were large, clean and extremely quiet. There was a balcony anf a very nice armchair

The worst hotel in the world

The location is awful. The servise is awful. In pool you are allowed to swim only from 9 to 6 p.m. The owner is very rude. Towels change once in four days. You are allowed to eat only in the inside of the room. No service no comfort.

    Cheap but not cheerful

Location - middle of nowhere - a residential area a good 10 minutes stumble over broken pavement (when there was any pavement) downhill to get to the bus stop into Varna. There is nothing nearby - no shop (only a grim supermarket at the bottom of said hill), no bar, no cafe. The potholed single track from the hotel involved pinning yourself against garden fences (with the attendant barking attack dogs) when a car bounced by.Service - gobsmackingly shocking. We arrived at around 2am (the proprietor would have been informed of this) and luckily we'd booked a cab from the airport as we would never have found the hotel. We stood in the street for at least five minutes before he opened the gate in his underwear. We went down for breakfast at 7.45am (having been told it was 6-8 and he pointedly looked at his watch and said 'oh well it is ok as it's the first day' - not a great welcome. We tried to engage him in a bit of conversation (we were the only guests) and he answered questions grudgingly. When we said the hotel was very nice he barked that we could buy it as he wanted to sell. When we said we might have a dinner in Varna one night he told us he will lock the gate and we must only ring the bell just once, not twice! On the rare occasions when he wasn't being abrupt or downright rude he just moaned about everything. Clearly hated running the hotel, hated the Roma people, admitted to being a racist, made two mistakes in his life - getting married and going on holiday to Egypt once. His poor wife did the cleaning (very well) and was the only other person there - he had also moaned that he couldn't get any staff, I wonder why?!Food - breakfast was the usual suspects; cold meat, cheese, bread, coffee, same each morning. Dinner made me think that Bulgarian food was awful. We had two meals there - 1. A pile of vinegary, shredded veg for starter, slab of plain chicken with watery mash for main, an apple on a plate for dessert. 2. A thin soup with some veg and bits of chicken, a pile of boiled rice with pork bits in a grey gravy, two small bits of cake.Room - a good size with a large veranda overlooking the garden and the covered over pool (so no swimming and didn't dare ask) but nothing to sit on, not even a plastic chair. On our third day we had had enough and booked into a hotel actually IN Varna, which was wonderful and not too expensive. It was well worth it as I reckon if we'd have stayed it would have been the worst holiday we'd ever had and we've been to many countries and stayed in a wide range of accommodation.

    Great place and owner

    rating26 Jul 2014

I have just read the group of young chefs who said never again.I stayed here on my own late or just as after the season had ended about two years ago.The owner was great, his name is Kris and he drove me to town and the beach, he even took me shopping with him.The food was fantastic and at the end he drove me to the airport!I had a great stay and recommended many people who have also liked their stay, I look forward to getting back there soon.

    never again

    rating18 Aug 2013

The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, the owners would have been friendlier had we been German...like the rest of their guests. The "high speed internet" was a joke. The shower didn't drain, one towel was provided for a room with two people. When we asked if they could call a taxi, the owner told us that he didn't know the number of a taxi. If you want to go to Varna to sit around a pool in a village, and not go to the beach or into town...it's perfect. The setting is lovely, the price is good...but it's away from everything. The offer to drive us to the beach was not extended to us...so I'm wondering if we were not taken seriously. As a group of young chefs on holiday in Varna...the food was good..however extremely slow to be presented...
