    Scammy

    rating25 Jan 2026

I was warned about the practices in this hotel, so I checked my room carefully. There was a tear in the duvet cover so I reported it to receptor but said they didn’t need to change it. On departure they tried to charge me 40 euros for a new duvet cover. Some staff here are running a scam and should be ashamed. Kolim Sun, General Manager at Pacific Hotel Phnom Penh, responded to this review We would like to clarify that we never attempted to charge you for the duvet cover. Our team only made a note for internal reporting after the damage was mentioned, but no payment request should have been made. If there was any misunderstanding during departure, we sincerely apologize. We take accusations of dishonest practices very seriously. Our hotel does not tolerate any form of scamming, and we are proud of the integrity of our team. We will review this situation internally to ensure our communication is always clear and professional. If you are willing, please contact us directly with more details about your stay so we can look into this further and provide proper clarification.

Tour hotel that worked out well

    rating19 Feb 2025

Stayed here on a G Adventures tour. Location is not close to the main attractions in Phnom Penh and it is on a busy street so there were some noise issues. But my room was comfortable and everything worked as expected - AC and Wifi - and the shower was hot and strong. The bed was quite firm but I managed to sleep well. The breakfast was sadly lacking with mostly western foods and little variety but luckily the Starbucks was close and I could get a good cup of coffee!! Kolim Sun, General Manager at Pacific Hotel Phnom Penh, responded to this review Sur sdei bong,Thank you for your valuable feedback. The information we provide to our guests is intended to ensure a safe and pleasant trip. We truly appreciate your comments and will carefully review each point to improve our service. We look forward to serving you even better next time.

Not very central but TukTuk's are easily accessible

    rating01 Sept 2024

This hotel is not very central to the riverside or Basaac Street (where the bars and restaurants are) so does require a Tuk Tuk. There were limited places such as massages nearby as well however close to the central market, supermarkets and ATM. I enjoy getting the Tuk Tuk so for me it wasn't much of an issue. The windows are definitely not noise proof and lots of outside noise comes through the window so bring ear plugs if things an issue for you. The carpets are stained throughout the hotel (pictured) and the hotel is situated near some dark alleys and were advised that people had phones and watches snatched from outside this hotel. Nothing happened to me.The buffet breakfast has limited options but does change daily. There were no pastry options like other hotels we have stayed at.My room did not have hot water even though I had turned on the hot water switch. This was not ideal after getting rained on.The hotel does not have a pool but does have a useful gym on the 3rd floor. It also has a communal balcony located outside of the lifts (pictured). They could do better

    rating24 Aug 2024

The rooms & bathroom were quite small as compare to the pictures in their website. They have a really nice dining area for breakfast but the breakfast buffet is very small.Personally I didn’t find any vegetarian options except than some fruits. Kolim Sun, General Manager at Pacific Hotel Phnom Penh, responded to this review Dear Guest,We assure you that the room sizes depicted in our website photos accurately reflect the actual room sizes. We do not enhance the photos to appear larger; only the colors are adjusted for presentation purposes.Regarding breakfast, we offer a variety of options, ranging from European to Asian cuisine, with an emphasis on salads, eggs, and fruits to cater to our vegetarian guests. We are committed to providing high-quality products, food, and service to our guests at a reasonable price.Thank you for your feedback. We will carefully review each point you have raised.

    Unsafe area + Scammy Management

    rating08 Aug 2024

Staying at this hotel is not advisable because you will be scammed at checkout. The entire staff lacks professionalism and unfairly charges their guests. They will charge damages to your folio for using pillows and towels in an effort to fraudulently raise your bill. The entire hotel is untidy with smudged elevator mirrors, dusty rooms with no windows (felt like a prison), and dirty phones with heavily soiled furniture. The refrigerator in the room was causing a foul smell to permeate the air. Furthermore, the filthy fitness facility can only be unlocked by a front desk attendant.Upon checkout, they tried to charge us an additional $16 dollars (the rate has now increased to $22 on the Agoda booking app) for staining a pillow and hand towels with hair gel, which is water soluble. Additionally, it is not a biohazardous material. We requested permission to reenter the room so that we can document the alleged damage with photos. They refused. Then, we requested that they bring down alleged stained linen to the lobby, and they refused. The image below is from the desk operator's cell and most likely isn't an image from our room. Kolim Sun, General Manager at Pacific Hotel Phnom Penh, responded to this review Dear Guest,We would like to share our perspective on your recent stay:1/. We offer a range of room options, from Standard Rooms (without windows) to Superior, Deluxe, and Family Rooms (with windows). You selected the Standard Room, likely due to its attractive pricing.2/. Upon check-in, you were initially hesitant to provide your passport for copying, which is a standard procedure in all hotel.3/. The registration form, which you signed, clearly states that any stains or damages to the property will incur charges. This is a common practice across various businesses, including ours.4/. We strive to provide a pleasant experience for all our guests. Unfortunately, your behavior during your stay was disruptive, and we would prefer not to host guests who might disturb the positive atmosphere we work hard to maintain.
